Both fit, but I had to dance my way into the size 10. They looked great on my butt and legs, but the waist was a tad tight. The size 12 slid right on. They also looked good on my butt and legs, but the waist was a much better fit. I wore the size 12 to work today and the stretching was there, but minimal. They still look good by the end of the day. They are mid rise, just below my belly button. The waist is comfortable, they do run long. In 5’6 and am wearing boots with a slight heel and they still drag a tiny bit. They are too long for tennis shoes. The indigo color is great. It is true to the picture - nice and dark. The "blurred darks" color is a little lighter than the photo. The lightness comes more around the hips. That is not an area I want to highlight. I kept them but wear a tunic to cover my hips with this color. The sizing is a little small. I also prefer simple design, no weird embroidery, no pre-torn holes, no weird buttonflys—and these are that. Just simple plain jeans with the cut I like! They have the perfect degree of stretch in my opinion—enough to assure a snug fit but not like some that feel too much like leggings. These are solid, well-constructed name brand quality jeans. Be aware, these run small and LONG. I am 5'7", 145lbs and wear a 6 in my other favorite jeans, but the 8 in these is even a little tight on me. I also initially ordered the 8 Regular, but they were hugely long, so I exchanged for an 8 Short, which are the perfect length (not sure what the actual short people can do other than be aware you will have to have them tailored).
