I had an old Dell desktop that didn't have USB 3.0 so I bought an add on card only to find that with it installed the PC wouldn't boot.The problem was that the motherboard couldn't power the card and still have enough power to start so it obviously needed to be powered direct from the PSU. Unfortunately the PSU didn't have a spare molex connector but did have a spare Sata power connector. Bought this and problem solved. Desktop now has USB 3.0, and boots just fine. There's a school of thought that advises against using SATA to Molex connectors due to possible heat issues but this seems to be mainly a problem with cheap and poorly made cables and my research flagged this Star Tech cable as being the best quality one you could get. Been running it 4 months now without a problem so I'm happy with how it's performing.

Exactly what it says it is, sata to molex adapter. I bought these to install an AIO in a friends computer that only had sata power connections and no molex, the AIO needed a molex connection for the RGB. These where perfect for the job

Used this to power the lighting on my Cooler Master ML240 rgb water cooler with rbg control. My power supply didn't have lp4 power so I adapted my available power from my hard drive sata line. Works well, cheap, and easy install!

Product is as advertised. It's nothing fancy but it doesn't need to be. I would have given 5 stars but the wires are not bundled in a sheath. Not a big deal though.

There are countless options available for converting molex to SATA power, but not so many for going the other way. Since some older motherboards and many adapter cards use the older molex style plug and modern power supplies tend to concentrate on the SATA connections, this can come in quite handy when you're trying to keep the number of power supply wires down.

Not too much to this cable. I purchased an NZXT HUE2 RGB Controller and it required a molex power supply, but I didn't have one available but I had plenty of SATA power supplies. So I purchased this adapter and it's properly powering my HUE2 with no issues. Build quality is decent. I've only been using it a couple of days, but I have no reason to think it won't last a long time.

I purchased a USB3 PCI Express card. When I received it I realized that it required plugging a power cord into it and the input had to be from a four pin plug. I should of done more research. My computer had only 15 pin power plugs and the cords weren't long enough to reach the card. Anyway I finally found this one online. It was priced competitively and and I received it in just a couple of days. Anyway, it works perfectly and I couldn't be happier. I also learned a couple of lessons about working inside a computer regarding wiring and PCI cards.
