I use it for that or for lower back pain. I place it in a gallon ziploc style bag (fits perfectly), freeze it, then place it inside a pillowcase. Its still cool after 8 hours. I purchased mine at my grocery store (Giant) in their seasonal aisle. They were two for $5.00. **Q: Can I cut them so they are individual cubes? I'd like to cut them all and replace buying bags of ice every weekend. It would be a cleaner set up** A: There are others types for individual ice bags. This is most effective as a mat. I use it on top of the ice in my coolers on the boat and they keep the ice linger than without it.
