Nope!
I have had two of these.. The first one was froze up. No movement at all. So I sent it back. The replacement one is sticky and seldom goes back to zero. Not worth sending it back a second time. I have to remember, you get what you pay for…

Perfect replacement for my metal lathe
I have an old South Bend metal lathe that needed a new dial gauge, and this one works perfectly. I couldn’t bear to go digital on this old WWII looking machine, so I am happy with this mechanical gauge. The dial is large and easy to read, with 1/1000 resolution. Good indicator, recommended.

Decent Dial Indicator For The Price
This is a decent dial indicator for those not needing professional quality. I'm not a machinist, just someone checking alignment on my saws and drill runout, and it works fine. For a $17 indicator I feel it would be silly to even mention much less compare it to Starrett or other machinist quality tools that cost 10 times or more what this one does. It's not meant to compete with those, and I appreciate having an inexpensive option for work that I do that doesn't need 0.000001 percent accuracy.

Budget friendly dial indicator
This is a pretty good dial indicator on the cheap. It comes in a blue case and seems fairly accurate with everything I've seen so far. I have this affixed to a bar so that I can measure the wobble on several different spindle tools I have. It's working great so far.

Perfect little low cost dial indicator.
This is a nice little low cost solution dial indicator. The analog display is easy to read. There are multiple ways to mount it. The dial turns to adjust the zero and the movement is smooth and consistent. Very happy with this acquisition.

Seems accurate and works with the mag mount I have here at the house
Seems accurate and mounts easily to the mount I have here... Checked runout on my Harley crank with it and was the same measurement as my Snap On...

Semi-functional but not great
Fundamentally, mechanical dial indicators are pretty simple devices. What makes a good one is the smoothness of operation and the precision with which they are made. This dial indicator arrived mostly functional but very very stiff. The probe was firmly stuck and required a lot of force to get it moving initially. With some effort, it moves more smoothly but is still much more stiff than a “good” dial indicator like a Starrett or Mitutoyo. I have not yet been able to assess its accuracy but given my experience so far, I do not have high hopes. Perhaps with some effort I may be able to make it more usable. The dial is readable and the printing is clear so some care was made in its manufacture. It’s just too bad that a little more effort was not taken to make it work as smoothly as it should. It is far less expensive than the “good” indicators so perhaps I am expecting too mouth from it.

Could be useful
This is a nice lightweight, easy to read dial indicator. I plan to use it to align my table saw and fence. It will also be useful for making sure my bandsaw fence is parallel to the blade. This set includes just the dial indicator. It has a projection in the back with a hole in it so you can affix it in a stable place. There are no mechanisms provided to do this. The probe is very sensitive and glides very smoothly in and out.
