Exceeded expectations in every way. Excellent value.
The outsized sound is booming and crisp. It has the versatility to go anywhere and play on anything, including my home TV and speakers, and the battery lasts forever. The performer can face the audience using the portable screen while friends can watch the performance and the lyrics on the TV. The controls are intuitive and it is easy to get started out of the box, and I keep finding nice features I never thought of. I love the design, like how the microphones pop in and disappear and are always charged. Excellent, thoughtful design all around and top-shelf quality. It can do anything: It is a modified Android with a simple Karaoke interface featuring large, simple app selections, but there are plenty of options if you want to get nerdy. Our favorite app is KaraFun, which has a 6 month subscription included and better subscription options if you subscribe on the device (totally worth it!). The app displays a small QR code so people can pull out their camera, scan, and a browser pulls up a web app on their phones so everyone can easily add songs to the playlist. It’s dummy and alcohol proof! There is even a cool voice match that checks your range and matches your voice to compatible songs that works perfectly. It also has a browser, so it’s also a great portable TV and much more. I tried the Costco machines and was tempted to get a cheaper, higher rated machine but they are no match for the value. I am very happy I paid a little extra for far better quality and an easier, more immersive experience. I have been trying to figure out why there are so many cheap items with higher reviews. The only explanation I can think of is that reviewers of budget alternatives don’t know what they’re missing. They are not even close to the sound, quality, or design of the X1.

You need this karaoke system!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I love karaoke. Believe me when I say I try every style of karaoke system I can get my hands on. I had specific criteria searching for this system. It needed to be a self-contained, battery powered system with wireless microphones, built in monitor, and great sound. It needed on-board and customizable microphone effects. It needed to have input connectivity including external drives, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and wired microphones or external audio sources like a laptop or tablet. It needed to have a great catalog of available karaoke tracks. It needed to be able to send audio to an external audio system and send video to an external TV or Monitor(if the built-in screen weren't big enough). This system ticks every one of those boxes. The built-in tablet runs a variety of apps including Karafun, and YouTube. By registering and logging into these apps, a huge selection of karaoke tracks become available. Within Karafun, you have quite a bit of control including changing the key +/-, setting the volume of the backing and lead singers, and setting the size of the lyrics panel. Search or browse tens of thousands of available songs, create custom tracks yourself, play music trivia games, etc. You can even get a prioritized, custom list of songs that match your vocal range. Overall, this system knocks it out of the park. Things that could be improved: there is a slight delay between singing and having your voice come out of the speakers. It's slight, but to me it was noticeable. Another point is keeping a charge. I charged the system fully, used it while plugged in, shut it down. A day later, I decided I should unplug it to avoid overcharging. A couple of weeks later, I found that the batteries in the system and microphones were drained. That was unexpected. Last item for consideration is that there doesn't seem to be a way to sing karaoke with tracks that you own on a hard drive. It's possible to play the music, but not play the entire CD+G, Zip, or MP4 karaoke track. Perhaps there is a workaround, but I haven't found it. But, this is a powerful sounding, all-in-one, battery powered karaoke system that ticks all the boxes. It's easy, intuitive and very fun. Of all the systems I've tried, this is the best yet!

A great sounding and well-designed portable speaker / karaoke system
First (and most importantly) the sound is fantastic. The bass sounds good both with the bass boost on and off. Had a chance to test it outdoors while doing a little work on my car yesterday (a bit too cold here to be at a beach or park right now) and it sounded great and was easily loud enough to overcome the sounds of the engine and a tire inflator even tho I had it 10-12 feet away from the back of the car (so another 14-15 feet to the front of the car). The speaker itself feels very solidly constructed and looks quite nice. I like the cutout handles on each end as well as the shoulder strap. The strap itself is not padded, but the attachment is quite nice, and the unit isn't really heavy enough that a padded strap is needed. There is also a standard 35mm (1-3/8") speaker stand mounting hole (like you'd find in most PA speakers) in case you wanted to elevate it on a stand. When the tablet is closed, the design is very clean with only the controls that matter for listening to music shown (buttons for power, bass boost, input, and bluetooth, with rollers to adjust volume and lighting). The built-in 13.3" tablet is a pretty basic and runs a version of Android 13, but is quite functional as the tilt/swivel mount allows it to be positioned easily, and it is nice that it can flip and fold down over the top of the unit for transport or when just using it as a bluetooth speaker. There are a few apps and shortcuts pre-installed on the tablet, including a media player for local files, Spotify, YouTube, a couple of karaoke apps, and a few other things. (No Netflix pre-installed on my unit, but you can easily download/install from an appstore if you wanted to.) The microphones are conveniently rechargeable and fit nicely into their storage/charging ports under the folded down tablet (instead of sticking out or attaching to the side as on most other portable karaoke machines). The microphones are mostly plastic and fairly light, but they sound good and don't have too much handling noise. The microphone charging ports and controls for the microphone modes are the only things found beneath the tablet. It is nice that there are knobs for manually selecting the amount of reverb and to adjust bass and treble, as well as a button to turn on "ducking" (which is useful when using the unit as a PA system for music and announcements) If you need more than 2 microphones, there are two 1/4 inch microphone (or guitar) inputs under a rubber cover in the back. They worked fine with either a 1/4" wireless microphone receiver (mine supports 2 wireless microphones, so that would allow 4 singers) or a standard microphone with an xlr-1/4" cable. Other ports beneath this cover include one HDMI, one USB-A, a microSD card slot, an 1/8" stereo input, and an 1/8" headphone output. The media player can play audio and video files from both the USB and the microSD (as well as from internal storage). The smaller rubber cover just contains the ac power connection -- which is conveniently just a standard "figure-8" power cord. I am also very pleased with the runtime on the built-in battery. After using it as a bluetooth speaker outside for a couple hours (while working on my car), I figured I'd see how good the battery life was, so kept playing music (via bluetooth) while making and eating lunch, then tested/played with the various features and settings and installing software for a couple more hours, then did a bit of karaoke and mic testing, streamed music directly off the tablet while making and eating dinner, connected the unit to a 4K tv and then decided to test playback of music and videos from microSD and USB storage, and ended up watching a movie that was on the USB flash drive (totally legit copy of the movie, since the digital copy was a dono reward from my friend's kickstarter for the movie). All in all it was probably about 10hrs of actual runtime (within 11.5-12hrs of actual time) running completely on battery before the 20% remaining low battery warning popped up Overall, I think the Ikarao has done a great job of choosing the features and design of the Break X1, and this unit would be an excellent choice for anyone needing a portable party speaker as well as someone looking for an all-in-one karaoke system (or even a small battery-powered PA system). Even if I were being super picky, the only thing I could really nitpick is that the knobs for the manual mic adjustment (reverb, treble, bass) are "backwards" (turn to the left to increase, right to decrease). Also, I wish they could've used combo XLR+1/4" jacks for the microphone/guitar inputs -- mainly cuz I have plenty of XLR microphone cables, but only a couple of XLR-1/4" cables, so it took awhile to locate them when I was testing -- not sure there's room in the current location for combo jacks tho (maybe just 1 combo jack could fit?). Reality is this is probably a fairly niche feature for most people tho since most will just use the included wireless mics and most of the few that would add a mic could use a mic with a 1/4 plug. tl;dr: if you're thinking about it, just go ahead and get it -- two thumbs up!

I'm blown away
This karaoke machine is all about QUALITY. First off, its internal battery life is amazing. Its speaker is powerful, I don't normally raise the volume over 40% living in an apartment, but that's enough to get me going to sing. Then being able to search songs online on their app, youtube, or download songs into the internal memory for when you won't have wifi, makes it so practical. I haven't felt any delays with the microphone yet, I just hope nothing goes wrong with it, I love it so much so far.

The Rolls Royce of Portable Karaoke Machines!!!
Wow this speaker is something else! It's a game changer! I do host Karaoke for a living and I am always looking for new fun Karaoke things, especially for when I travel or do small events, or even to send out for rental systems. I stumbled onto the iKarao Break X1 on Social Media and knew that I had to try it. When I got it I was so excited to start playing with it. It does take time to set up the Apps and get to know the controls but it was also very easy to to setup. Not only does it run Karafun, but also can run Starmaker, Smule, Singa Karaoke, Netflix, YouTube and more. The App Store has a lot of options as well. First off this speaker sounds incredible! You can adjust the bass and the treble volume. What's really cool is the two microphones hide away and recharge in the unit. You can adjust the mic volume on the actual microphones, as well as add effects thru a quick button on the mic. You also have more effects on the Speaker. Mixing the Mic and Music is very easy. It has a very nice touch screen tablet and can also output to a TV via HDMi and also thru a VideoCaster. You can plug in your guitar, additional Mics, you can bluetoont your phone or computer, and you also can insert a MicroSD card and/or Thumb drive. There are a few apps also that can help you record yourself while singing. This is one of the most versatile speakers I have seen. It can be mounted on a speaker pole, it has a long lasting battery, and a carrying strap. I decided to put it to the ultimate test and invite some friends to our local bar that didn't have Karaoke to try it out in their back game room. We plugged it into another TV to have another screen then just the tablet, and it became a karaoke party and we were even doing duets! The sound is amazing and we had other patrons coming from the front of the bar to join in! We got our songs off Singa, YouTube, Karafun and also connected some People's phones. It was so much Fun and the only reason we stopped was because the bar closed around us. I Liked this speaker so much I also ordered the smaller iKarao Break X2 a couple weeks later. (Review I sgonna happen) All my friend want to know where and how to get one! This is awesome to have in my arsenal and I can even perform at the Senior Communities with it as it's so portable and is seamless!

Issue with mic. Tempted to give lower star. But after the issue is resolved, pro outweigh the con.
TLDR; great product. If any issue, contact Ikarao support (on messenger) preferably during week-day. Since they built this stuff, they know their stuff. Amazon support is like semi-meh (unless you came across the support person who have the same item and had the exact issue like yours). Bought this karaoke machine for my parent who is not so great at operating a complex system. After looking through several machine, I settled on this one. The least expensive one looks too cheap and the most expensive one looks too complex. Ikarao Break X1 is a bit pricier than other machines but operation looked simple enough. When I noticed that this is shipped and sold by Amazon (not shipped by Amazon and sold by Ikarao), I was like - say no more! Since Amazon itself is stocking and selling this, it must be good. Unfortunately, I ran into mics issue when I first powered on the machine. The two mics that came with the machine were able to connect fine (as per the mic setting displayed on the screen). The mics' power button worked (I was able to cycle through Break X1 mic menu via wireless mic's power button), the mics' volume button worked. Both mics volume were at max. However, no voice came through the speaker, no matter how much I screamed into the mics. Thinking it was an issue with the wireless mics, I tested with the wired mics that I have on hand - no luck. The system was able to recognize wired mic but no voice came through the speaker. The speaker was able to play music fine - just no live voice through the mics. I was panicking at this point. This machine weighs 32lb. Returning and exchanging it was going to be a big hassle. I reached out to Ikarao to get help, but unfortunately, this was all happening on Saturday. It was totally reasonable that they were not responding on the weekend. I needed to get this to work fast, so I tried my luck with Amazon support. After going through several Amazon supports, my patience was running thin. They were giving me options of return, exchange, partial refunds for mics replacement, etc. These weren't the solutions that I was looking for. FORTUNATELY, the last Amazon support I spoke to actually had a similar machine, and she had the same issue as mine. She told me about the steps that could potentially solve my issue - connecting the Break X1 Bluetooth with my phone, turning on the wireless mics, and then BAM!! everything started working, including the wired mics. It was such an unpleasant ordeal. Break X1 is a solid machine when everything is in working order. So far, so good for now. The sound coming from the speaker is great. Bass boost is awesome. Being able to play audio/video files from USB drive is a plus. Operation is simple and user friendly. My family loves it! Ikarao's support team eventually responded to my plea on the following Sunday evening, offering assistance via Messenger & WhatsApp. While I couldn't replicate the issue when they reached out, their commitment to standing behind their products was evident. They followed up a few days later, to make sure that my machine was working well. I would give full 5 stars if the machine worked right out the box.

Most convenient speaker on the market
Absolute game-changer for anyone who loves music and singing their heart out! Having Spotify and YouTube at your fingertips is a game-changer for spontaneous karaoke sessions. No need to fumble with external devices or worry about song selection it's all there on the tablet! The tablet's user-friendly interface makes browsing and selecting songs a breeze. The sound quality is another standout feature of this karaoke speaker. The powerful built-in speakers deliver crystal-clear audio, making every note and lyric come alive. The bass is deep, the treble is crisp it's the kind of audio quality that turns a karaoke session into a true musical experience. No more being tethered to the speaker by cords; gives you the freedom to move around and engage with your audience. The microphones themselves are of high quality, delivering clear vocals and eliminating the hassle of dealing with tangled wires. Overall its stylish design, easy setup, exceptional sound quality, and the added freedom of wireless microphones make it a top-tier choice for those who want a karaoke experience like no other.

Nice karaoke machine but…
It’s a nice karaoke machine, the sound is loud, without distortion even on the higher volume. The mics are also not cheap looking but I still have to get used to the sound of it, because it’s not as crisp or clear as to the sound even on my cheaper speaker. Wished it has a remote control or can use a mouse for the android acreen. As for the 6 months free subscription with Karafun app I only got a electronic response, it’s been six days since I emailed them, I don’t know how long must I wait for a real answer so that I can use the Karafun and get to see the whole selection of songs. Update: From 4 stars to 1 star. Still no response on my request for the 6 months Karafun free subscription. I tried using the Aux, bought the necessary cables so I can plug in my small karaoke machine on the guitar/mic/audio (3 kinds of 3.5 to RCA adapters and 2 kinds of 1/4 inch maleTRS to RCA female adapters ), they work but theres a heavy distortion it’s useless to use it. I was on a holiday when I ordered it, and when I came back I only had a short amount of time to try it before I realized the cons. Also, one of the cons is when you use the Karafun. You have to subscribe and pay for about $10 monthly. I have other karaoke machines (Hundai and Platinum) with loads of free songs so I only use this Ikarao in the garden. Another update SEPT. 18, 2025 Just noticed that even on standby the battery drains in one week. I think it was not like that when it was new.

Bad mic delay
Speakers sound great and go very loud. The mics aren’t great and have a delay making it difficult to stay on beat with the music. You hear your vocals through the speakers a while after you’ve sang them and it’s very distracting. The mic audio is also not very crisp, no matter the mic settings. For this price point, I’d expect better mics and mic sound quality. Was still fun but the mic delay really takes away from the experience. Might return this and just do a DIY karaoke setup.

Often disconnecting with the internet, other than that, great sound quality.
It has a geat sound quality, the only thing is, it is always being disconnected to the internet.
