Confrontational but good product
It was time to get a new scale in our household. First of all we had to start looking after these WFH wight gains and secondly our former scale was just too old, inaccurate. We decided to try one of these new digital scales with wifi connectivity. And even though Withings wasn’t a familiar brand to us this seemed to be one of the more upscale brand to go to, after all it was one of the products suggested on the Apple site. This also implied a steep 600% premium in price compared to the average bathroom scale - we could have spent £20 on an average digital scale rather than the $130 we paid for this premium model in the Withings range. Was it worth such a mark up? Well the scale is stylish, and it feels quite durable and of high quality. Also its presentation, given the packaging is good. This simply makes it a nice, proper gift as well. Then in terms of ease of use and connectivity I would also rank it high. It works straight out of the box. And if you are willing to download the app and spend a few extra minutes to fill out a few basic data you are set up in just a few minutes. I should say that we found it a little hard to set up family profiles. The scale detects different family members bases on their body measurements, which is great. However only one person can keep these extra data on their digital device and as far as we understand you can’t share it in a family group. So we had duplicate profiles for our children initially before we erased the extra one, which was confusing to and the and the scale. For the rest the app is great and straightforward, its can share data with other health apps, and historic data can be manually added. If you wish to be confronted with the truth you can get weekly reports by email. The scale automatically sends new data to your mobile device within a few minutes. The battery lasts for months, we use the scale daily a couple fo times and we haven’t had to recharge for the past 3 months. Is it accurate? I guess so but I found there is a 300 - 400 gram bounce when you step on it before it pins down your weight and therefore daily variation depending on your posture, and time of measurement - I usually take my weight and body measurement once a day straigth out of bed. Now, this premium version of the scale is also capable to do a full body measurement. In fact is does the whole sequence whenever you step on it, including a weather report. I lost interest after using those functions once. Mostly because I’m in a rush in the morning and it takes about a minutes to go through everything. But there is a BMI, heart rate, body fat measuring ect. I still find that the BMI is off, or based on a different calculation that I would otherwise get to (its too high). On the other hand, one of our children has a heart condition, so the heart rate measure feature is a helpful addition. So looking back we probably shouldn’t have paid for these extra features, but its nice to have. And overall this is a good product that we like and would recommend.

Awesome, just awesome
I love these scales! Ok, that might partly be down partly to the umpteen pounds I've lost since getting them but I think they are just brilliant. Actually the scales themselves are pretty good, accurate (I think), look cool and capture lots of interesting information about body composition and all but it's the support apps and stats that I can see on my phone that really make this thing great. I've had body composition scales in the past but the fact that these send my measurements to my phone and keep an ongoing at a glance history of progress is so motivating and encouraging that it makes it so much easier to maintain focus and keep at the diet. I also love that the apps can be combined with other tools such as food and fitness trackers to provide a comprehensive view of energy in, energy out and the effect on the state of my health. Just awesome!

Overall good, but expensive for the ‘Cardio’ bit
I did a lot of research before buying these scales and I opted for the cardio version largely because I preferred their design, I thought it would be useful to have the heart rate and pulse wave velocity readings, and I was buying them with an Amazon voucher I received as a gift, so thought I would treat myself to the best ones. They are very attractive looking. The app, Health Mate, is decent and syncs well with the scales. We had a couple of early issues with trying to add two different profiles to the scales, but it was relatively easily fixed. I saw one reviews complain about seeing the weather forecast on the scales. I agree it’s pointless, but you can toggle within the app which measurements are shown when you step on the scales, and the order in which they are shown. They read as 0.3kg higher than my rather old basic digital scales over the course of 7 days, so I can’t complain about that. The body readings are useful (the scales show fat and muscle mass as an amount - the app shows it as a percentage; I didn’t realise this for a while and thought the numbers weren’t syncing correctly.) The biggest bug bear I know people have about these scales is the ‘cardio’ aspect of them. And I have to agree. It took me ages to work out how to get a pulse wave velocity reading and I’ve sort of cracked it. I now probably get a PWV reading 60-70% of the time. It involves standing on the scales with moist/wet feet and holding onto the basin/a wall to keep my feet stable. I now weigh myself after I get out of the shower. This may seem counter-intuitive as you would expect to weigh more, but again, if you weigh yourself after you shower each time, the trend will still be the same. After the weight reading has registered, I then stabilise myself by holding onto the basin to get a PWV reading. The moisture on your feet basically makes you a better conductor, allowing the scales to get a reading. The heart rate is wildly inaccurate when compared with my Withings Pulse HR activity strap, so it’s only really useful when looking at the stats as a trend, rather than as an accurate reading. But then all of the stats are useful in the context of trends over time, rather than a one-off measurement. I don’t regret buying these, but I wouldn’t recommend you invest the extra money for the cardio measurements, unless you are really concerned about keeping track of heart health via pulse wave velocity.

Posh. Smart. Helpful.
This arrives incredibly well packed by the manufacturer. It sync’d to the phone easily but needed two attempts to update the software to the latest version - but once done it worked fine. It now recognised and plots my weight and shows a daily history in the display as well as BMI and body water % - though it struggles sometimes with the heart rate. Not to worry though as I get that from my Apple Watch Series 5. It works equally well on our thick carpeted floors as it does on the harder bathroom floors. Only charged it once so far so no idea how long a charge lasts - I’d hope a couple of months but let’s see. Overall a 5⭐️ Product.

Don't expect the build quality to match the price tag
I'm on my third withings scales. Bought the first one in 2011 and gave it to a friend when I updated to this model. Then disappointingly my scales failed after a few years, not what I'd expect from such an expensive product but maybe I was unlucky. I contacted withings and they offered me a 25% discount on a replacement. It was cheaper for me to buy a new set on Amazon which I reluctantly did. Now, just under 3 years later my scales have failed again. The battery was low so I put them on charge, a few hours later they were showing as fully charged so I put them in the bathroom and went to weigh myself the next day and the scales are totally dead. Will not light up and do not react if plugged back into the charger. Nobwaybim spending this kind of money on these again. My original withings which I gave away (more basic model) are still going strong 12 years later. For this price I'd expect a product which lasted for many years. Very disappointed. Also, heart rate monitoring is incredibly inaccurate. Some days would say 50, some days would say 120. I wear a Garmin watch and never have a hr of 120 after waking up and standing on my scales! Would not recommend to anyone, many other smart scales available nowadays so look elsewhere if you value build quality and longevity in your products.

Nice way to simplify tracking body stats.
This really simplifies tracking body statistics such as weight, body fat, muscle, body water and vascular age. I like the way it syncs automatically to my phone. Great mobile (iOS) app too (even without the scales), which integrates multiples readings taken from Apple Health along with the readings from the scales. It displays everything in a neat and interesting way with various comparisons and snippets of info. Only slight niggle is that it comes with a charging cable that I am fairly sure I will lose whenever it needs charging next - not a big deal though since it looks to be a standard micro usb type one. But no buyers remorse at all with this purchase - highly recommended.

Very informative and useful
There’s quite a few older reviews on here that complain about Nokia versions of the device or the lack of pulse velocity technology. I think they must relate to older batches. My unit is from Withings and contains all the advertised features out of the box, including pulse velocity. Build quality is excellent and all of the readings taken seem to be very repeatable. That’s not necessarily an indication of accuracy, but the weight shown by my unit matches that on one other device which I know compares well to calibrated professional scales. To me, it seems to be doing what is claimed, and accurately enough. If you’re concerned about accuracy look around the ‘net. You’ll find various studies that have looked at the accuracy of this device and in particular the pulse velocity and fat mass measurements. They put my doubts to rest. The app is great once you get going. It’s a little fiddly to pair and setup with the device. But persevere. Once it’s working the amount of information produced is great. I run on an iPhone so the app can sync data from Apple Health. The flow is two way with weight and body composition readings pushed into Apple Health and a variety of data pulled back from Health into the Withings app. The app gives lots of useful tailored health advice. The information in heart health is a must for everyone. I recommend this piece of kit. Get one, and get your health in order.

Initially frustrating but awesome when working
I got this scale for the "Pulse Wave Velocity" feature. I was on the verge of sending it back because it didn't work. I did quite a lot of research and found that it was disabled, but then they re-enabled it in the EU, but the scale had been manufacturered before this date. Therefore the scale needed a firmware update AND the phone app needed to be the most recent. I then had to enable the PWV feature in the app itself. Then it worked. Nokia/Withings should've made more efforts to write decent documentation as I believe many users wouldve been defeated and sent it back. Apart from that, the scale is good. To get a good reading for anything but weight you need slightly damp/sweaty feet. I dab mine with a damp kitchen tissue.

Legacy product
Poor - Withings “legacy product” which they don’t sell anymore from website- took ages to accept the product supplied was faulty and then insisted I send faulty product back before replacing which they said could take 3-4 months - poor costumer service when original product supplied and paid for was faulty
