The solid construction makes it heavier and thicker than your standard utility knife, but the trade off is definitely worth it, and I prefer sturdy, durable tools anyway. The body is solid, not partially hollow like most utility knives. Each blade has an easy to operate but very sturdy blade release/lock button. It is truly well-designed and well-crafted.
