I wore of the finish off my guitar and this item worked perfectly to fix it. Easy to shape and cutI would recommend this product. Looks better than I thought it would.

This stuff is awesome, I was worried it would be very sturdy and I would have to get it cut with my grandpas bandsaw or something lol but it’s actually a really thin and bendable material so I was able to easily get the job done with a pair of scissors. Don’t be stupid like me though and accidentally cut a left handed pick guard on your first try. It’s gorgeous though the design has so much depth to it and I had a lot of fun deciding what pick guard I should make with it.

Replaced the OG pickguard because it was bubbling up after 10 years. This was a little thinner than I expected it to be, but it went on nicely and was easy to cut. There’s enough material to get two pickguards out of it (if you don’t cut a left handed one on accident that is). Definitely stuck on well. It was out in the sun for some hours and it got some crazy bubbles on it but then I realized it was a thin plastic protective layer and I peeled that off and she’s still super clean and no bubbles after 5 hours in the sun on an 90° day. Highly recommend.

I’m giving only 4 stars because it was not well packaged or protected for mailing, arrived in a bubble envelope with no cardboard to prevent bending and creasing. I received mine with a permanent deep crease in the material, so about 1/4 of the sheet is unusable. Other than that, the sheet (would be) large enough to use on 2 or 3 Ukes, it sticks well, looks nice, is easy to work with, and protects my Uke from scratches. I would like to buy other colors for my other two Ukes but i hesitate because of poor packaging, which resulted in wasted material.

I bought this product to protect the top of my Taylor acoustic guitar. Specifically, my guitar has a matte finish and my aggressive playing style started to dig into the area behind and beneath my pick guard. I brought my guitar to a luthier and his fix was to cover the damaged area with an epoxy. Needless to say this was only a temporary fix and in retrospect I'm surprised the luthier never suggested a clear, adhesive plastic pickguard. At any rate, I took a chance and this product worked perfectly. Basically, you need to first create a jig. I did this by tracing over paper and taping more layers of paper and cutting until I had a perfect match for the vulnerable area. Now, this product is covered with a thin, removable plastic layer so you can trace directly around your jig with a sharpie and simply peel away your tracing. That's about it. I used a kitchen scissor to cut the final piece and an exacto knife for tight corners. Seems to adhering completely and there's no real visual or audible change evident.

The adhesive is very dependable, and the tortoise pattern is well done... but the material itself is very thin looks cheap when first applied. I found it looked better after having the gloss knocked off by being rubbed down with 0000 steel wool. (Be careful, though... steel wool "sheds.")

Easy to cut. Best to use a template and sharp exacto knife. Scissors will work but difficult to cut curves properly. Use 220 grit sandpaper to smooth and round out edges. Once all this is done apply to guitar Thickness to good for the price. Slightly thinner than original pickguard material

Great material for sticking onto your plain pick guard to add some style. This completely transformed the look of my Squire affinity natural finish telecaster. I had to use more than one sheet to cover the entire pick guard. I made the largest portion I could with one whole sheet and put the seam for the remaining piece down near the controls where it would show the least. The pattern helps hide the seam if you cut the edges at a clean 90° angle and butt them tightly before sticking them down. I had to completely remove the controls from the pick guard to accomplish this, which is time consuming. I took advantage of that as an opportunity to also add shielding to the pickup cavities using copper foil tape but that is for another review. Cutting out the interior pickup holes is a little tedious. I used a retractable utility knife to pull carefully along and trim the outside edges to match the existing chamfer of the factory pick guard. If you take your time and go slowly, this will leave a slight pinstripe of reveal of the original pick guard color just below at the chamfered edge. It came out beautifully. I used a pointed exacto knife to cut out the holes for the control knobs and the pick guard screws. You have to cut the screw holes a little oversize because the oval screw heads will buckle the decal when you tighten the screws if they bear down on the decal.

Very happy. Transformed the look of my guitar. Very easy to cut into shape. Stick is great. Protective film on front so can draw your shape before cutting without actually drawing on the product itself. Awesome.
