- LEARNING PLATFORM FOR KIDS & ADULTS: The Raspberry Pi is a tiny computer that can run either Linux or Windows, and used as a stand-alone mini computer, or remote into it from a PC or Mac. Learning how to use the Raspberry Pi provides an important skillset that will be valuable in the workplace. The Arduino Uno can be used by itself or together with the Pi to build all sorts of IoT projects. And since it's open source, the internet has vast resources, instructions and ideas.

Since the Tinker Pi uses open source components, you can use your existing components. Using Autodesk Fusion 360 and a 3D printer, you can create Snapees, or we can create them for you for a nominal fee

WHAT IS A TINKER PI?: The Tinker Pi is all about modularity and using and re-using open source components. What you can do with it is limited only by your imagination! RFID projects, home/garden automation, robotics, to name a few. It's a prototype box that allows you to work on your projects, then close up the box and take it with you or mount it on the wall. It works great in the classroom because the various colors make it easy to organize. It can also be used as a production box, with it's 2 screw holes in the back that allow you to mount it to the wall, using the touch screen as a kiosk. THE RASPBERRY PI: The Raspberry Pi is an amazing little computer with 1Gig of RAM, Bluetooth and Wifi. Why learn it? Not only is playing with the Raspberry Pi fun, but it's also a useful skill to have in the workplace. Even though the version of Linux (Raspbian) is scaled down, by learning it, you or your child will have learned useful skills that can be applied to professional versions of Linux/Unix. THE ARDUINO UNO: The Arduino UNO is a microcontroller board that has a more specific use than the Raspberry Pi. It is often used in situations such as controller a robotic arm or servo. The Arduino that we picked to bundle with the Tinker Pi is a high-quality compatible manufactured by Keyestudios. ROBOTICS SENSOR PACK WITH ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS: This Tinker Pi is Blue, comes with the "Robotics Sensor Pack". This includes six sensors from the Keyestudios 37 sensor pack kit, and in addition to our web site, they have a Wiki with diagrams, sample code and videos. The Robotics sensor pack comes with (1) a Line Sensor, (2) an Infrared Obstacle Avoidance sensor, (3) an ADXL345 Three Axis Acceleration Module, (4) An SR01 ULtrasonic Sensor, used to sense objects within range of your robot, (5) a Joystick and (6) a Piranha LED Light Module.
