I "supervised" but it was easy to put together but challenging enough to keep her interested. Clear instructions. She realized she installed 1 piece upside down when she was 80% finished and it was easy to make the change with the supplied fasteners. She loved the little robots and when she gets tired of them, they can turn into a gumball or small candy machine. I took away 1 star not because of the product but the shipping. Some idiot shipped it directly in it's box with the packing label slapped right on the front, which for a present, made it pretty disappointing. Get the toy though, the kids will love it.
