Buy it: Proactive, well-made, and easy install
I saw one of these on several cars on the road, and thought it was a good idea. I know there are several other companies that offer cheaper prices and slightly different models. I can't say that I am an expert on these bumpers, but I do know from experience that you generally get what you pay for. Other companies might not give you as much coverage and / or give you a solid bumper. I suppose at the end of the day, a bumper protector will do what it says it will do. But here's why I went with Bumper Bully. Even despite the additional shipping cost (for a Prime member like me). 1. I figured that it was better to be proactive in protecting my bumper (on Benz, black). I consider myself to be a generally safe and good driver, but with parallel parking comes scratches. Both from my mistakes and from others'. 2. It seemed well-made, and it was! Solid and thick rubber. I really felt like it covered my bumper well without looking bulky / too much. 3. (This I figured out after purchase) It was easy to install. You have two options: (1) velcro it on the cargo mat of your trunk, or (2) stick it on the side, I think - I don't remember since I used the velcro option. There is even space to cut out some part of it should your license plate be covered. My SUV's plate on the gate, so I did not have to do any cutting. 4. (This was unfounded, I know ... but ... ) The cars on the road that had the Bumper Bully were high-end cars in addition to mid-range cars (Toyotas, BMW, Benz, Acuras, Lexus). So to me, that indicated its practicality and impressiveness of it -- after all, a bumper protector is not sexy-looking. But you want to go with one that works well if you decide to get one, right?

Nice to have something basically work exactly as advertised!
I live in a part of town that has almost exclusively parallel parking. So getting bumper protection was an absolute must when I bought my new black car. It was almost scary looking around and seeing car after car of scoffed and scratched bumpers. This thing works like a charm. The extra padding is well worth the money as it definitely provides an extra layer of padding and protection. In fact, for the most part, rear bumpers seem to get hit by a parallel parker's front bumper license plate, which tends to jut out a bit. The extra padding makes sure that even a more forceful bump won't leave a single ding or scratch. The bumper bully attaches very easily via velcro straps to the floor of my trunk and couldn't be easier to use. Now there are a couple of shortcoming. First, the bully only covers the majority of the rear bumper (I have a mid-size sedan) and importantly the edges of the bumper are not covered. And for parallel parkers, that is typically where a person will scratch your car as they pull out of the spot behind you. I really wish they had a version that had more coverage and I know there are other bumper protectors that wrap around your entire bumper. Second, you absolutely should not drive around with the bumper bully out on your bumper. Outside of looking somewhat dorky, it will flap in the wind and the straps that attach it to the trunk will actually scratch your bumper paint over time if you drive with it. I accidentally did this a couple of times and the place where the strap connects to the bumper bully actually started tearing a bit as well. It's something to keep in mind because if you want to have the bumper bully out before you park (e.g. you're trying to park in a tight spot and may hit the car behind) then you have to stop the car, get out, get the bumper bully out and then park - sort of a hassle if you do it enough times. But overall, this is a fantastic investment that keeps my car looking brand new!

That it protects your vehicle from a minor collision
This bully bumper lasted me over two decades. Why did you pick this product vs others?: That’s a great job and it’s durable and will last more than a decade.

Absorbed all of the rear impact!
My son just called to tell me how incredible this product is, thus I must pass the story along. He and his gf were just rear ended this morning by a Jeep Cherokee going approx. 20-25 mph & the bumper buddy absorbed the entire hit. He is flabbergasted and OH SO HAPPY that I decided to purchase this for him (back in 2021 mind you) when he was traveling to & staying in Brooklyn while dating his ex gf. He had a few minor dings here and there while parked but never incurred damage due to the bumper buddy. And while that’s awesome… getting a call, post a pretty gnarly rear end hit, to thank me again for buying this product years ago, and hearing that his used suv is still in the same pretty good shape it was prior to the hit makes me feel just a little bit better about him out there driving. Thank you bumper buddy! No joke. This product is a beast. GREAT GIFT FOR YOUR KIDS OR YOURSELF!
