I can listen to bbc news form it?

BBC World stopped broadcasting to the US in 2001. I use to listen on 5975khz at night all the time. It's either NPR (ugh) or SiriusXM satellite radio in the US anymore.

Is there battery included?

Bad luck Lucas, or you're buying from the wrong places. Every radio I ever bought came with batteries, including the last 2 I bought last year... and I've owned a lot of radios.
