One of the few times where OEM costs less than aftermarket parts
Worked well to resolve shifting issues in my GMC Sierra. Included electrical connectors are some of the best, most user friendly connectors I have ever used. I will NOT buy an aftermarket solenoid after using this OEM part!!

Great solenoid but dont make the same mistake i did
My transmission is a 4l60e on a 2001 suburban. I connected the solenoid which has 2 wires on it (red and black) but i also connected the extra wire with the loop to the bolt. But this made my solenoid stay actived which made my Torque Converter stay locked in always and it turn off the engine every time i shifted into D or R. So dont add the extra loop wire if your transmission doesnโt use it.

Cured my high idle and my engine dyingโฆ
The original one was in its last leg, either causing a high idle at a cold start (1500 rpms) and/or a no start when cold and even sometimes it would cause the converter to lock up and die, thus stalling the engine. I knew there was a problem with one of the solenoids (no money light or hidden codes) when I found a high amperage draw (above 1.7 amps) on my PRNDL circuit. After tearing into the transmission I had to remove my TCC solenoid in order to remove this one. Two 10mm bolts. Make sure to lube the new O-ring with Transmission Goo or similar before installing. This solenoid has a check ball in it, similar in theory to a PCV valve in how it works. If one can shake it and hear it rattle, it more than likely is good. My old one was dead quite.

Fixed lock up and shifting problems
This fixed my shifting and lock up issues. Sometimes the converter would not unlock. It would stay locked upshifting and on decel, and would nearly stall the engine while coming to a stop. After warming up, it would stack shifts, that is, it would upshift way too early thru the gears and lock up the converter in second gear. Make sure your TPS is adjusted correctly. That is imperative for proper function as well. I put this solenoid in my 1985 Buick Lesabre with the Olds 307 and 200-4R metric trans. I had some other carb issues going on and had not yet adjusted the TPS. The new solenoid would lock and unlock constantly while cruising in OD because the TPS was a little off, so make sure that is set.

Might not look the same as factory but it works fine
This product does not look like the factory unit that came out of my 2004 trailblazer LS 4.2 Liter, but it functions properly and fits the original space in the 4L60e transmission. I reused the factory bolts instead of using any of the mounting hardware. Do not add the extra ground if you are using it in this application. Just install the two wires and make sure you tuck them away under the filter or something to keep them from getting hung up on the oil pan or anything. Saved me from having to buy a whole harness.
