This is my favorite chili powder by far. I even bring it overseas because I have not found another blend that tastes quite the same. There is something about this specific mix that makes it better than when I try to combine the ingredients myself. The balance of chili pepper, salt, garlic, and spices is just right, giving it a deep, smoky, and slightly earthy flavor that works perfectly in chili, soups, and stews.It adds richness without overwhelming heat and blends smoothly into sauces or marinades. The texture is fine and consistent, and the addition of silicon dioxide keeps it free flowing, which makes it easy to measure and mix evenly. I appreciate that the flavor holds up even after long storage, and the large 20-ounce container lasts a long time.Whether for cooking at home or seasoning dishes while abroad, this has become a staple in my kitchen. We ordered several McCormick spices from here before the holidays.All ended up being shipped in plastic mailer bags with no protection.A few showed up okay, this one (chili powder) showed up with serious dents in the plastic bottleto the point it was starting to crack.We emptied the bottle into the last bottle it was replacing.The spice itself is great. We have been using McCormick seasonings for years.The only complaint is the delivery method.

We love their products & buy on regular basis, but for two people it’s hard to subscribe. All boxes checked: color, seasoning, grind quality, texture.

McCormick is a great quality product. This was cheaper than it was at the retail store.

I used to use chili powder blends a lot in the past. I later made my own mixes from various spices. However recently I was following a recipe for Sriracha mayo and this specific chili blend was called for. I was dubious but I thought I'd try it out. Upon opening I was impressed at the complex aromas. This is no dollar store blend that was ground 10 years ago haha. The Sriracha mayo tastes great and I will be pleased to use this blend in chili and other dishes.I feel like the price of this on Amazon is a bit inflated but I could find it at my local grocery stores.

American chili powder is NOT the same as Aussie chili powder (which is simply ground capsicum/bell pepper). I use this often to make hot dog chili, mexican, and countless other dishes. Much more convenient than making my own every time it's needed in a recipe. Hopefully Amazon will expand the American seasoning on offer.

I was so excited to see this sold on Amazon because UK supermarkets only carry the dried Thai chili which does not work for authentic Mexican food! This is perfect to add that great depth of smoked Mexican chilis for any dish.
