Philips Series 3000i 2-in-1 Purifier and Humidifier.
Having read all of the reviews that were written about the Philips 3000i air purifier/humidifier. The reviews were mainly positive about the unit by itself, most people criticised the 'Air Matters' app. After carrying out much research on combi air purifiers, only 2 others stood out, those where: 1. Dyson PH01 combi humidifier air/purifier at ยฃ599. The reviews that I read about the Dyson model was that this unit also had a terrible app, it was far over-priced and people often referred to this model {Philips 3000i) as being both a better unit and better value for money. 2. The 2nd unit was a sharp UA-HD110UL Air purifier/humidifier at ยฃ335. Technically this unit was comparable with the Philips3000i and it featured a unique 'Plasmacluster ion generator' technology that produces negative and positive ions that neutralise viruses and odours. apart from this feature, its specification was comparable with the pricier Philip 3000i. This matches downfall for was that it had no remote and couldnโt be configured as a smart device apart from that it offers the best value for your money. I have a home that is run by smart technology systems, when I noticed that the Philips 3000i was Alexa enabled this would mean that my existing controls and sensor could control it via Alexa or Smartthings. This aspect of it being controlled by 3rd party control reassured me that this was my best choice even if the app turned out to be poor. Connecting the app can only be successful when standing next to your router. Once connected the app and its functions are fine, the unit might disconnect again when placed in an area that has poor wifi, you may need to think of fitting a wifi range extender in the cases where your unit isnโt near your router. The app had a 7-day timer that was easy to configure, very accurate in-built sensors for measuring air quality and humidity and a filter change count down indicator. The apps features couldnโt be improved upon in my opinion, possibly a firmware update from Phillips could address the weak wi-fi receiver? This might not be an app fault? Filters consist of: 1. Humidification wick โ FY3435/30 โ Around ยฃ33 -Run time 4730 hours 2. NanoProtect HEPA filter - FY3433/10 - 4730 hours โ around ยฃ50 3. Active carbon filter โ KY2420/30 - 4730 hours โ around ยฃ32 Since my original purchase for my office, I have bought another one for my bedroom. I would highly recommend this unit.

Incredible
I got this because 'Which' recommended it. I suffer from allergies and am just generally sensitive to all things related to breathing - smells, dust, humidity levels and so on I have a much less expensive yet highly rated air purifier but it is no comparison to this Philips 2 in 1 machine As soon as I switched it on I could feel a HUGE difference in the air quality - the air felt 'clean' and fresh like I was at the seaside. The auto sensors are great constantly modifying the fan to deal with impurities. The humidifier is excellent The fan is very quiet and on sleep mode you can barely hear it It's easy to set up and works great from the app - although keep in mind you can swicth off 'notifications' in your phone settings for this device or you will get a message every 10 minutes telling you the machine has detected a change in the air - which is useless information really Overall - I am thrilled with this machine because having a clear head is worth every penny If you can afford it - get it - I'm glad I got the purifier/humidifier rather than just a purifier and keep in mind this thing is HUGE - it's not the sort of thing you will carry up and down the stairs - it's the size of a very large cabin bag

Does a great job of cleaning the air, but the app is average
This is a fantastic purifier and humidifier and would definitely recommend it. It was easy to get going and I've mainly left it on 'Auto' and 50% humidity (recommended for most homes) with it purring away in the corner keeping the air clean. The two things that let it down are: 1. The app (Air Matters) can be slow to connect and update, especially when away from home. I had to reset and reinstall after it lost connection at least once. 2. No timer to turn it off and on with a preset schedule, which I think might save energy. Only a 'sleep' timer which you must start manually. Overall these don't detract from a great air purifier from Philips.

seems expensive but works a drea
My wife developed sinus problems and allergies She had all the hospital tests but didn't help as we had moved into a wooded area. After some research Dyson was slated and this Phillips had great reviews. It's brilliant and although not cheap it's well made and humidifies by blending filtering the water before it blown into the room. The allergens are filtering the air. Works with smart phone through bluetooth and has night mode that you can't hear and you can turn the display off 10/10

A pricy Air purifier and Humidifier that fails on EVERYTHING bar the air filtering.
The Airfilter part works fine - but the rest of the unit is so stupidly made it is toe curling how it was ever released to the market. 1. Lights - they are VERY bright and colourful (read ugly) and you can "disable" them. Even at the lowest output too bright for a bedroom - but when you disable them - you do not get visual alerts (like Lack of Water or Change Filter) - It would be beneficial to have a "Lights off between 8pm and 8am or similar. 2. Internet / Wi-Fi - it is clearly a cheap Chinese "ready made" Wi-FI interface that Philips have bought from a Market stall in a Chinese wet market. A: If you switch off power from the device - it forgets everything about what internet was connected - you start from scratch B: You can not customise alerts. We have one in a smokers room and if notifications are enabled - it blasts out alerts all the time - with no possibility of disabling that alert only. So you have to disable ALL alerts - so then you do not get fill water/change filter alerts. C: Servers it reports to are in China.. (We have therefore disabled usage of Wi-Fi in total but then the orange WiFi light keep blinking and it reports itself as an Accesspoint = WIRELESS NOISE!) 3. Buttons on the top front of device are far to easy to press by accident - so moving the device you often accidentally press a button. 4. Historical "Air History" from App is "wonky" at best. We have 2 of them and one one - it is IMPOSSIBLE to get historical data no matter what we do (reset/reconnect etc) - it will just not show any historical data. 5. Apps are just bad overall. 6. App REQUIRE GPS location to work and install the Philips Wi-FI? Why is my GPS location needed for installing an Air Filter? Why should my GPS Location be transported to a Chinese company - for what LEGAL purpose is that done? So the ONLY positive we can say - is it is great at filtering air. But that is it. Support goes to the Chinese vendor of the Wi-Fi board and the app. Any attempts at getting the devices to work have so far failed with the Chinese vendor stopping any and all responses. So in our opinion it is worth GBP 150-200 - and not the ridiculous price Philips wants for it.

Excellent product
There are two cons on this product 1) it is expensive and 2) it is large and heavy especially when full of water. The pros outweigh those two cons by miles. I have been using it in sleep mode in my bedroom for a week and no longer wake up snoring or unable to breathe. I have not had to take anti-histamines in that time either, although this is a high pollen period of time. The sleep mode is totally silent. If you want this to run quietly then the fan speed on the two other programmes can be adjusted down to 1. If you want a fan to cool you or white noise to drown out noise nuisance then speeds 2, 3 and turbo will all do that job. I have discovered also that most of the pollutants are household sprays and personal toiletries, which is very useful to know.

Amazing!
It has made a huge difference in our flat. Extremely sensitive, it reacts in seconds to a change in air quality. Our flat no longer feels stuffy or oppressing when it's cold and windows are closed. It was always a little too dry due to central heating and now it's just comfortable, the humidifier works great too. The best part is that my partner is a light smoker and I smoke occasionally, seing the numbers race up when a cigarette is lit has been a shock and a revelation. We are quitting! I would definitely recommend the investment. Well worth it despite my initial reservation.

Good but expensive parts
It's a good purifier however one of the filter requires to be changed after a couple of weeks usage in a normal conditioned house. Of course the filter is bit pricey. Hence I give 3 stars. If it doesn't bother you, you can buy it with confidence.
