I use this in my canister filter and my in tank filter. This stuff is magical! Very easy to use and keeps the water crystal clear. You get a ton in the roll. Very worth the money. 10/10

I had been looking for filter floss for my 5 gallon aquarium for a couple months. My local stores didn't have any available. I didn't realize how large a roll this is when I added it to my cart. But it wasn't cost prohibitive and won't go bad and now I don't have to worry about running out any time soon. It comes in a plastic bag that is made from a reasonably thick mil plastic so it won't tear easily and will keep the floss free from dust and debris in storage in my basement. I like that - because of the dimensions - it enabled me to cut a longer piece than I previously had in my filtration. I'm happy with the quality of the floss too. The piece I had before was more delicate and came apart easily when I rinsed it. This floss is a bit more dense and holds its shape when being removed from the compartment and when being rinsed. It does a good job catching small particles and debris. The water clarity has improved since I added this to my filtration set up.

This filter floss works great at keeping my fish water crystal clear. So you can see by the picture I showed you what it looks like before and what it looks like after. It just collects everything. It's thick but it's not tight woven It's kind of like maybe something that would be in a soft cheap pillow. It really really collects a lot of stuff and once it turns brown I swap it out. On the bottom I put a thick Koi pond filter pad for support because it's heavy and stays strong on the very bottom. Then I'll put some classic filter that's blue and white or pink and white. Then I'll put a 50 micron polishing pad. Then on all that filter media I put about 4 inches of the filter floss. The filter floss pretty much catches All the gunk and fine particles so by the time it gets to the polishing pad there really isn't much left. So everything underneath the polishing pad stays completely clean and I don't have to change that out hardly ever. I constantly change out this filter floss because it really catches everything. And my micron pad actually lasts a lot longer using this. I tried using it in one of the back filters on a 75 gallon tank and it didn't seem to hold up very well because it was just way too soft so it'd be just like one big blobby mush of filter and dirt because like I said it's kind of like a cheap pillowcase stuff inside. This does not keep its shape. But that's a benefit for me because that's exactly what I want. I want something to scoop up all the goop and kind of flow in the filter. I always keep lots of this on hand. I have three 10,000 gallon Oase filters. Sometimes I just can't clean them all at the same time so if I notice one is collecting anything on the top I'll stick some of this filter floss in there and it will collect anything that's coming up. So I use this for all kinds of different situations. But this is the one that I keep purchasing over and over and over again. I do recommend it for external filters. I do not recommend it for hang on the back of your tank filters. It doesn't work and then when you go and pull it out all it does is let the goop just falls right back in and it's all over in your tank. One other thing is I feed my baby koi and my young fish flakes and the little particles that float all over the place that they don't get this filter media will clean all of that up. Plus You can pull it apart without using scissors. So you can actually get the piece you want without having to cut it of course it's not perfectly square around but that doesn't really matter.

I gave up commercial filter pads with the charcoal. Started to use Bio Sponges and Ceramic rings for my filtration. This has worked wonders. To supplement, I wrap this filter floss around my bio sponge. It works wonders. My water is crystal clear. Those folks nagging about the size being wrong, don't let that detract you from getting this floss. It is amazing value. You get so much you it will last you quite a bit. It's also nice and thick but still effective at collecting particles. I just think some people like to nit pick. I saw that huge bundle of floss (which I wasn't expecting) and was happy. Who takes a ruler out to measure this stuff??? Buy it, your fish will thank you and you'll enjoy watching them through a nice clear aquarium!

Excellent filter for fish tank. I use it to replace the bio-bag with activated carbon which makes the water always cloudy. For a 20 gallon fish tank, a cut-out piece makes the water clear after 1 day and it can last for 7 days. There are about 70 pieces cut out from the roll, so it can last for a year.

I was looking for a good cheaper alternative to pet store filters and so I got this based on what I found online. I cut it up into the shape needed to fit my filter so it’s very versatile in that way. It’s basically the same thing as batting made to stuff furniture and stuff animals, but at least with this you know your not risking any contamination that might kill your fish. This is very fine stuff and filters very well, you will end up having to change it every 2 weeks depending on your tank. I sometimes rip the pieces in half so they don’t clog up so fast and can last a little longer. I’ve also tried other brands of this stuff and they all work the same, I buy whatever is cheaper at the time and it normally lasts me a couple years. I have 2 filters on a 80 gallon tank. On the note of using furniture batting I do use that stuff in my outdoor pond filter just because it takes a lot more of it. I’ve used it for years without any issues to my goldfish. But for my indoor tank I don’t use it, I buy this stuff or other stuff that’s rated for fish tank use. Just to make sure and it’s not really that much more money. It’s probably the same stuff but better safe then loose all your expensive fish.

Does not give me crystal clear water as I expected, seem to be a lot of white bit in the water

I have previously purchased this product from other sources, typically in sheet form. I am pleased to find that this product is now available in a roll, which I find to be more convenient and less wasteful. I have been a loyal customer of this company for several years and have consistently been impressed with the quality of their floss. It performs effectively in my canister filter, and I highly recommend it to others.

Looked up my order history and found that last time I have purchased this was in October 2021 and have paid 13 bucks for it , i can't believe it has more that doubled in price. Good news is that it lasted for almost a year and half.
