Worked great for our 8yo. Figured it out after just a few tries. So glad to have this cup!

My son had a mental block about swallowing something without chewing. We tried all sorts of techniques for getting him to swallow pills. We tried mini m&Ms and marshmallows and all sorts of things. Of it was food he could do it. If it was a pill it 100% of the time would not go down. I bought this cup and a pack of empty gelcaps that I manually filled with powdered sugar to make some practice placebo pills. The reviews that talk about pills sticking aren't wrong. It does happen. You need to make sure the pill rack is dry, and even then sometimes they cling. But drinking a bit faster generally fixes this. It's not a sip, it's more like taking a shot. Throw it back kinda fast and they go right down. Took all of about 10 days and my son doesn't even need the cup anymore. Money very well spent. No more liquids, chewables, etc. it is genuinely a quality of life improvement for all of us.

I really wanted to make this work but it just didn’t. If the pill gets wet it will stick to the ledge. But, it’s easy to fill the cup without the pill getting wet. My problem was the pill just falls into my mouth instantly and I’m stuck just as if I didn’t use this cups Would not recommend.

Pros: * Affordable * Good idea & design Cons: * It doesn't work for every child. It's worth trying, but after a lot of tries I had to accept the fact that it wasn't going to work for mine. We worked with child development to try to help my child swallow pillows before trying this. Child development suggested using mini-M&M's to swallow & progressing to regular sized M&M's. They also suggested wrapping pills with a tiny amount of fruit roll ups to make them more slippery to swallow. My daughter could swallow the M&M's, but when we progressed to tic tacs, she couldn't swallow those. The fruit roll ups were a great idea, but it made pills too large to swallow. We started working with an occupational therapist & she suggested this cup. This is a great idea, but for reasons I don't understand it didn't work for us. I have an 11-year-old daughter who still can't swallow pills. All medicines that she takes are in liquid form. She's autistic & has developmental coordination disorder. I suspect that's why she struggles so much with it. Her occupational therapist recommended this cup. She tried and tried & couldn't do it. If it was a small capsule with a smooth gel shell, she managed a little better. It still took several tries though. Regular sized capsules couldn't be swallowed at all (we practiced with Vitamin D capsules that she typically chews once per week). However, with actual pills it was a complete failure. The pills would dissolve with her multiple attempts. She ended up just drinking the water that contained the dissolved pill. I guess that's one way of using it, but not the intended purpose.

Great product but was not helpful for my husband who had the very large pills to take. It would have been helpful if the shelf in the cup is at a different angle. Still like the concept of the cup.

This is one of the best things I’ve ever bought in my life. It worked unbelievably well and got my 10 and 14-year-olds taking pills very easily. Total game changer, highly highly highly recommend.

I had great hopes for this little cup that it really could help me swallow my pills down. Nope!!! There is nothing different about this cup and any other little plastic cup you could buy at Target for a couple of bucks, other than the little shelf that’s built inside where the pill rests. The problem is there is a design flaw with the little shelf the pill rests on. The cup has ridges everywhere so while your pill is resting on the shelf, if the pill gets wet at all, it will probably get soft like most pills do when wet, therefore the pill then gets stuck in these little ridges the cup has everywhere. That kind of defeats the whole purpose of swallowing all the water down in hopes the pill will come off the shelf and go smoothly down your throat where you should barely notice! At least that was their concept when it was designed. It’s unfortunate that it doesn’t work the way it should. So because it doesn’t work the way they claim it does on the package, I have to rate it 2 stars for everything, except on “value for the money” because at $8.00 & some change, it is well over-priced. If it had actually worked the way it was supposed to, I would have been happy to pay the full retail price or even more, as I would have been glad I finally found something that could help me! I have had a problem for years swallowing. certain pills/medicine. Have even had expensive hospital swallowing tests and flurostopic following..Just some sizes can not swallow but nothing conclusive after tests. So I live with it….til NOW!!! This item really works…and I have tried them all…..getting pill hung in throat is a horrible feeling!!! So….if you have this problem… SIMPLY GET THIS ITEM! YOU WILL THANK ME!!!! I am not advertising anything…but I am saying IT WORKS!!! Be sure to follow instructions…and as said… only ONE pill at a time. Would say good luck…..but luck has nothing to do with this. IT WORKS!!!!! 10-30-2024 You will thank me!!! UPDATE!! I have ordered two more of these. But let me add this…. I have found that I can take the problem pills and take just one NOT in the device…..then take the device filled with water to the correct level…and THEN swallow the pill in my mouth using the device to wash it down just like was in the device…but so far, it has yet to have a problem this way!! Must be the engineering experiences that makes me look at everything! (yes…Masters in Chemical Engineering). So try it….I have actually used up to three pills in my mouth and then washed down with the device…but I have it in the recommended configuration as if pill was in the space for it to be in. Once again…make sure device is located in correct position as would be as if pill was in it. Same water level. So far…up to 3 at a time has not failed me yet! Cheers!!!!

I think this cup takes you to the first stage as a delivery system to get the pill into your mouth. Maybe better than placing it in your tongue as recommended on You Tube. Not convinced yet it does the job one wants, namely swallowing a pill easily. Am persevering.

I have a daughter who has been struggling with pill swallowing and is now 13. Bought the cup on a whim. She was happy to give it a try. It took 4 attempts but she had success twice. Significantly more successful than without the cup for her. She was absolutely shocked when she was successful. She tried with 2 pills of ibuprofen, and we discarded the pills on the two failed attempts which may not be possible for prescriptions. Would suggest getting it down pat with tic tacs or M&M's before moving onto something that is prescription. She said the combo that worked for her was: 1. The cup 2. Eyes closed 3. Listening to music

It is good but there is a issue it is no good for smaller tablets
