A lot of difference between Sunbeam economy batteries purchased at the dollar store and a premium battery such as Duracell or Energizer. The power draw on these quartz clocks is minimal. With a good battery I would anticipate between 9-12 months. I used a gold inexpensive Harbor Freight brand battery with mine and so far it's lasted almost 4 months. **Q: My second hand moves but hour and minute hands don’t movr. Solution?** A: If the hour and minute hands don't move try cleaning the mechanism with a delicate flow of air using a liquid dispensing bottle pump without any liquid in it. This air will displace any dust that may be jamming the mechanism. If that doesn't work; you've got a defective mechanism - return it for replacement.
