After planting, any spots that had failed germination I smack the trays on the bottom of my boot to dislodge any soil in those spots so they haven’t been babied by any means and are still holding up great, so I just ordered more of them. This time I needed extra of just the trays for cactus seedlings in the greenhouse but the trays with the inserts are only a few dollars more than just the trays alone so I’ve got backup inserts should one ever break. Functionality is great! The bottom trays are thick and rigid and the seedling trays fit perfectly into the lower trays. The thickness of the bottom trays make it easy to move from greenhouse to watering area. It is easy to remove the plants once you are ready to plant them.
