I works exactly as intended. It is well made, the heat lasts a long time, and it is long enough and heavy enough so that you can stand or walk with it on and it does not fall off. The weight also keeps the heat snugly in contact well. I have a small microwave and I coiled the rice bag - without the cover, of course - on a paper plate before putting it on the glass plate to absorb any initial moisture from the rice. I heated one side 2 min., turned it over and heated other side 1.5 min. It was very hot, so by the time I got it back in the cover it was just right. If I could change anything about this device it would be the design of the cover. I would make the cover like a stocking with both ends open. I think it would be easier and faster to cover the rice bag if that were the case. The cover is very well made; it is just a little time consuming to work the rice bag back in the opening and distribute it evenly.
