I replaced my F150's factory speakers with the JBL GTO 629s. Installation was very easy being that the order came with the fit ring adapter. Amazing! Especially amazing was that the adapters were only about an 1/8th inch thick which allowed for plenty of clearance between the speaker and the interior door panel. I ended up using the JBL speaker cover to give it more security and solid installation. Once powered (no amp), the sound was superb. High tones were very clear (tweeter), mid tones where crisp and not dull to the sound, and has bass kick was excellent. Even without an amp they sound amazing. Excellent value for the money.

I have a pair of the JBL GTO629 6.5" in the front doors of an old toyota 2009 corolla with another pair of other sized jbl speakers in the back of my car and with the right tuning and adjustments with a good headunit, these speakers can be very loud! I ditched my old car radio and installed an aftermarket radio ( Pioneer AVH-1550NEX) . I mainly download mp3s I stream from youtube/ online and make playlists, put them in usb format and play them on my headunit. I find the quality is better played by mp3 via USB than bluetooth streaming. Very pleased as I'm a person who loves playing music in my car LOUD. The bass is pretty good too from sounds that require it. A good bang for your buck if you ask me.

Got these in my 2007 chevy express, sound deadening on doors plus these speakers it sounds amazing now, also put these in my ford E250 hooked up to amplifier not head unit but im sure off the head unit would sound good too.

3 stars due to one of the speakers being defective. I got this last month as a Christmas gift to myself. I finally got around to installing it yesterday, and found unfortunately one of my speakers is defective. How did I find this out? When I installed it, no sound came through. Weird, I made sure all the boxes were checked. After troubleshooting thinking I missed something, I decided to try the other speaker it came with, and sound came through. So now I have only one JBL speaker in my car. Disappointing since I spent so much money on this just for it to be broken. I’m very pleased however with the quality of the one I do have installed, very nice, strong base to it. Now I’m on the fence as what to do from here though. Going to try and file a return for damaged product.
