So, I didn't really feel like I could do a proper test of this on actual car upholstery, because I'd have a horrible mess if it didn't work. I decided it would be much easier to test its effectiveness on a pair of shoes. I used a pair of grey converse. They're not quite the same as car interior fabric, but they still worked to test the major areas I wanted score this on. First of all, ease of application - it really couldn't be easier. I sprayed until the shoes were coated but not completely saturated, then rubbed it in. It soaked in nicely, and I left the shoes to dry. Second, appearance once dry - I was a bit worried this might leave my shoes looking darker, or lighter, which is why I used grey. They did darken when they were initially sprayed, of course, but once dry they seemed to return completely to their original color. The texture of the fabric doesn't seem to have changed, either. Lastly, water resistance - water seems to just bead off of the shoes now. Even dirty water doesn't leave a mark. If some small beads of water do stick they can be blotted up with a paper towel and the fabric is left completely dry. This seems like it would be great for vehicle interiors. My only concern is I couldn't verify how long this will last. My shoes obviously don't undergo the same conditions as a vehicle interior, like sunshine and frequent touching. Luckily, the product is pretty inexpensive, so it won't break the bank of it needs to occasionally be reapplied. I definitely recommend it for shoes, by the way. Wearing converse through wet grass without having the dew soak through them is nice, and they just wipe clean!
