I picked these drivers to make a full range (no crossover) transmission line. They are mounted vertically at the top of 4 Ft' long wool lined boxes, Apx. 5" square. They play into a wooden cone mounted slightly above the drivers, which creates a 360o sound-field. The boxes are slotted at the bottom rear (about the size of the cone area) which enhances the bass by using the rooms corner walls. Over the years I have built Bass Reflex, Dancing woofer pairs, Di Eppilito configurations, and Folded horns. All of which was to achieve high sound pressure levels. The goal in this case was to try to achieve an undistorted, full sound spectrum, at moderated sound levels with a single driver.. These small drivers certainly filled the bill, and I feel one would have to spend significantly more money to attain a better sound using only a full range driver. They’re smooth and detailed without any harshness like some of the other mids I’ve used. I found these didn’t need the typical cut in the 2-3khz region.
