I just give them to her and she holds them and shreds them. She loves them. They last a lot longer than the kabob's. **Q: what are the size of these?** A: They're pretty large. As bout the size of a 20 oz soda bottle bottom. I break them in 2's or 3's to make them last longer. **Q: Would it be easy to make a hole in these to use as toy parts? Would you need a drill or can i do it with a bird kabob stick?** A: The chips are a little smaller than some of the others but they are fairly "soft" and airy. The birds shred the insides fairly easily and leave the rim. Punching a hole in them and the rim may only require a large nail and a good whack with a hammer. A drill might shred the softer area. **Q: Where is this product made? (the bird kabob yucca parrot chips)** A: I believe that Yucca comes from the American Southwest deserts. The last I heard they were getting kind of rare, and we didn't see the whole yucca branches at the bird fairs for 4 or more years, but Amazon still had the parrot chips. Our birds cycle through their favorite chew toys, and they enjoy the yucca chips. I do not know who is processing the yucca plants, but, since I'm an environmentalist, I will try to find out the status of this wonderful cactus. If it is becoming endangered, I will stop buying them even though my birds enjoy them. There are so many slices in the bag that doing it this way means they'll last for ages! They love their willow and apple wood sticks but a bit of variety keeps things interesting for them, which these chews provide. They arrive quickly after I order them and they are cut into a variety of shapes and widths so I am happy and so are my chinnies.
