He Loves It!
My parakeet needed to downsize from his last cage because he’s nearly 18, elderly, and the far fall potential was worrying me. He loves this new cage! He has the lavender purple one. The build quality is superior to, or on par with, any similar wire cage I’ve had—besides the last one he had with a solid metal frame. I really like how the hooks wrap around the bars in an alternating way to further support the structure. Make sure the sides are assembled facing the correct way. It took me about 15 minutes to assemble with no tools. It goes together in a very supportive way, despite it bring lightweight (what I needed to carry him to each room with me). Like other users said, support the bottom when holding because only those a few hooks are supporting the base and the top (which should be fine because they are very taut, but you never know). However, a major difference is his last cage has a broad metal frame on wheels (the common big one you see for about $100, white)—and this is all wire. So it’s a bit loud opening the door! Door opening is very easy tho. Removing him and accessing things is a BREEZE. I love that it has 4 doors: two feeder doors, a smaller opening door in front, and a huge door that opens. You could pop the top off with some significant effort, but it’s very simple and fast too, if needed. Please consider the noise factor because we personally weren’t used to it. His last cage wasn’t silent either, but this type of wire cage has some more echoing noise than a solid cage on wheels that has a big metal frame. But we have to pick our battles! Again, we needed the mobility in a home with multiple levels. I got the “Like New” one for $45, and there isn’t a better price on Amazon for the size. It was completely new and unused, unlike the slightly dusty vacuum cleaner I got that was “Like New.” The three perches are a good dimension for his feet. I think he really likes the food containers. They have rounded covers and interesting plastic perches that he’s apprehensive to use, but will be better for his feet. I wish it was 17” deep instead of 14”, but this width is definitely okay. I added millet holding clips, a wooden mirror perch, seed sticks, an extra perch for millet, a short white seed catcher, his plastic girlfriend toy and favorite perch, some auto-sensory toys like a wall net with toys on it and a dried grass toy from Prevue. **If you have cats or hazards, do not use the big door for safety reasons.** We just had a close call and thankfully he is very intelligent and knew not to fly out. Pets and hazards need to be locked out of the room, windows closed, fans off, candles out, if you even consider opening that big door because the cage’s size makes it very easy for them to accidentally fly out. Otherwise, it is very safe!! 10/10 for the price. Thank you, Prevue!! You never disappoint and not sure what the bird community would do without you!

Nice cage
A very nice bird cage. Easy to put together. Easy to clean. Food and water cups have a cover. Pull out tray is easy to remove and put back in for cleaning, and fits perfectly back into the bottom of the cage. Big enough to give a small bird flying space for exercise. A stand with roller for the cage is available, but must be bought separately. I could not find a cage cover for this cage which is disappointing. I use a blanket, but it does not fit well.

Roomy and correct bar spacing for budgies but not the quality of older cages
Update to the con list (3 months later): Replacement dowel perches are nowhere to be found. Our budgies love the cage and get plenty of exercise, but they chewed through one of the dowel bars and this company does not sell replacements for this cage. Since our birds love to have a couple of long perches and we didn't want to change the set-up, we had to special order bird-safe perches from a wood crafter. And a side note is that we always remove the wire grid at the bottom because every budgy we've ever had likes to ground forage. We clean the cage and replace bottom paper each day so it is safe for them. We've had budgies for a lot of years and needed a new cage. Pet stores near us don't have a lot of bird cage choices so we were glad to find this one on Amazon. I bought screw-on perches in various sizes, which work great in this cage. After shopping around, this was the best one with 1/2 inch bars that I could find in this size. Pros: This cage is pretty and we love the purple color. It's easy to put together and a decent price. It's also roomy for our 2 budgies to exercise and play and has the 1/2 inch bars that are safe for them. It has a lot of places to hang toys and the seed and water dishes are sturdy (we keep the cover off the water one since smaller birds can fall in, get stuck, and drown). And our metal fruit/veggie/millet clips fit the bars perfectly. The birds have room to fly back and forth and exercise their wings. Cons: Cheaper quality than older cages from the 1990's that we're used to. Since the tray is plastic and not the sturdy aluminum of the older cages, it sticks a lot when trying to slide it in and out, which makes cleaning harder than it should be. Two of the 3 wooden perches aren't sized properly and slide around too much. The metal bars are also thinner and bend easier than the older cages but that seems to be the trend these days. The smaller doors slide easily and don't have latches, so we use twist ties to keep the birds from opening them, but this has been a problem with some cages in the past.

Everything was in excellent condition. The directions were clear and in English
I was a little hesitant to order this cage because of all the negative things that were said, but decided to take a chance. It came today in a huge box. Inside was the cage in it's own box and lots of brown paper padding. When I took the cage out I found it packed tightly with styrofoam pieces to keep it from rattling around. Everything was in excellent condition. The directions were clear and in English. It went together with no problems. The feed cups are nice, not flimsy at all. The perches are long and there is absolutely nothing wrong them. As for the cage bars being weak, that's just not true. It is a wire cage for small pet birds and as good as any I have ever had. I'm very pleased with my purchase. If the dimensions are what you want, and you want to house a budgie, finch, or canary, this is a great choice. Update: I've had the cage about a month now and I'm still very happy with it but...a couple of things to report: the wire cage is bigger than the plastic bottom. That means there is a step down and poop lands on the step. And the long perches that ran the length of the cage HAD to go. In that position the bird has no place to fly-hop. I replaced them with rope perches that go the width of the cage and my bird is very happily hopping back and forth. It's a. nice size for my parakeet and overall I am still happy with it.

Love the cage its big and spacious for my little birdie, however im not a fan of the floor of it, its the same as the walls and my bird cannot walk on it he seems uncomfortable so i placed magazines on it to make it comfortable but it will be a pain to clean up. Also beware the hatches to put water and food dont have any mechanism to stop it sliding up if to your bird learns how to open it so they may escape. I got around this by tying it with wire.

Arrived on time. The cage itself was in the original manyfacturer's packaging (plain cardboard box), which Amazon packaged in their own, much larger box. So it was huuuge. Setup was easy, didn't need the instructions. The walls all clip into eachother. Nothing was bent or broken and no missing pieces. The walls are a bit flexible, fine for birds, but easily bend if sticking perches through the bars. Has one large square door in the middle for easy access, that slides into place. Has a smaller door embedded within that large square door that slides up, for easy, quick things. The food and water bowls sit on either side of the main door and are removable. They are accessed through their own, individual sliding door. Could replace with a bath or other toy if I felt like it. bottom has a removable tray, that has about a 1 inch lip- perfect for filling with pellet bedding instead of using newspaper. It slides out easily, and above it is a grill so the birds can't pick through. I am currently housing 2 lineolated parakeets in it (for those who don't know linnies, they're between the size of a budgie and partotlet). Birds seem to like it and so do I. Plenty of horizontal room for some light flying.

I use this cage for a single canary. Willow has room to fly and hop from perch to perch. He seems to enjoy this cage. And that makes me happy. I would recommend this product for a single canary only, since they need the length to fly. The bottom tray slides out easily to clean and the large front door allows my hand to go in and clean the perches. This is not a cage for parrots, as they would be able to bend the bars with their bolt cutter beaks. I bought the matching stand with this cage and this is a wonderful set up for us.

They have much more room to fly about and more perches the only fault is the perches tend to move about which I am going to have to fix.

Lovely cage, just a bit difficult to clean. You can't remove the bottom cage grit to fully clean it once the cage is properly assembled. You can wipe it down within the cage, just make sure birdy can hang outside of the cage as it may be a bit stressful having the bottom part lifted up weird and you trying to scrub it!! If you can powerwash then awesome!! Otherwise it is a bit of a struggle.
