Bore Solid Steel Style Zinc Plated Set Screw Shaft Collars for Lawn Tractor,Garage Doors (zinc, 3/4")

I actually bought these to replace the missing collar & cotter pin on my old Prentiss bench vice because I couldn't find an original replacement anywhere, and it would have been likely bloated in price so I decided to give these a go. I'm happy to report that, thus far, it is working beautifully. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the machining on these is not that great, a bit messy, but nonetheless they do their job & the price is great.

5/8 collars measure a scant .6255 I.D. Had to bore them out to use on a wheelbarrow axle. I have access to the necessary lathe. If you don't, be sure the shaft you want to fit them onto is undersize by at LEAST a 2-3 thou and has no burrs or bruises. What should have been a five minute drop-together reassembly wound up taking me an extra hour.

used for dolly install great seems legit theyre solid steel so definitely durable. If they start to slip i might try adding some lock tite or even grindingdown the shaft a little to make it impossible to slip. doubt it will tho for my useage.

Within two weeks of buying a new hand truck the push-washer fell off the axle and was lost. For several months I had to steer carefully to insure the left wheel wouldn't come off the axle. Finally I bought this set of shaft collars and all is solved. They installed easily and will be much more reliable, I hope, than the prior press-washers.

I have a Northern Tool HD Pressure Washer that lost one of it's axel caps ... the other would pop off when you tried to turn the unit. The shaft was 0.75". Purchased a set of these shaft collars & they fit perfect & keep the wheel's on. Haven't had an issue since.

I would say that these are well made, because they have a good finish and they would fit nicely on a shaft with a diameter of .31". Unfortunately, they were supposed to be 5/16" or .3125". I had to hone them by hand so they would fit. After that, they worked fine, but it takes some of the "good" off of the deal.

Well it fits snug as a bug on the old axle, still got to wait for the new one to get here, but very good quality, heavy duty, I'd say it's a good product.

The collars are nicely formed and the correct size. I used them to hold wheels on a steel shaft for a cart I made for my shop vac. Their set screws were looser than I would like, but they work well enough and I put Loctite on the threads to make sure they wouldn't come out.

Note that these will not fit on older dumbells that are not cut perfectly to 1"". They worked great on my newer dumbells
