They help so much with comfort, swelling and circulation - and therefore with recovery. I highly recommend for any ankle or lower leg injuries, or issues with swelling. I totally ruptured my achilles tendon a few months ago, and wore one of these on my left foot constantly prior to surgery. It really helped with pain and swelling and holding my loose calf muscle together. Now that I'm out of the boot, I'll be wearing one until I'm fully healed. Circulation going back up the leg is greatly impaired with injuries like this, so I need the sleeve to keep my foot from turning bright purple, swelling and getting very uncomfortable within seconds or minutes of being on my feet. It's a life saver. Being on my feet at all would be miserable without these, but as it is, I am fine for normal things like going to and from work, and I have even been up on my feet quite a lot the last couple of days with only minor discomfort. I like that my toes are open to wear with sandals, but the ankle is fully covered. Very, very happy. I purchased a size medium the first time, and they were perfect. The second time I purchased a medium, they were a little bit too big, and bagged a tiny bit around the ankle. My ankle might be a little bit smaller now than it was a few months ago, but not much - and my other size mediums still fit fine. It's a small difference, but I'm sending this second pair back, after receiving a size small that fits much better. For size reference, I wear a size 7 women's shoe. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Interesting! *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2019* Some other compression stockings have been too long for my short stature (5'3") but these are okay in that regard. They don't offer as much compression as the others, but enough to do the job. What is interesting about these stockings is the effect that lingers after I've taken them off. I can distinctly feel the pressure for several hours after removing them! This has never happened with other compression stockings--and I alternate this pair with a couple of other kinds that I own, so I know it's not my imagination. These are quite a bit thicker than other compression stockings I've used, but they seem no warmer in hot weather than others (all compression stockings are quite warm in the heat and humidity of summer). I like the colorful variety available in the HipStone brand. Wish they weren't quite so thick (because they are more visible under trousers), but they do a good job of compression, and that's the point. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Those nubs are the worst thing about an otherwise great pair of sleeves *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2020* I like these a lot! EXCEPT for the little nubs that are supposed to secure them to your leg...those things have left me with evenly spaced blisters around the back of my calves. I roll them down to avoid this.
