When you use it, it will turn the mustard stain red and make it look like a ketchup stain! Then you wash it with soap or detergent and water. It may take a couple repeated attempts, but I absolutely believe it will take the whole stain out. I've had 100% success with stains much older than that. **Q: Will it work on one week old mustard stains on the carpet ?** A: IDK but Chocolate is wonderful. **Q: Will this work on my sofa? It requires a solvent cleaner** A: I have used carbona for pizza sauce stain on my sofa with good results.
