Better than other color dyes I've used
It's been about a week since I dyed my hair so I can't speak to longevity yet, but Splat works so much better than the other color dye (göt2b) I was using. Unlike that one, Splat actually gets inside the hair follicles so they retain the full saturated color, rather than just sitting on top and looking faded. I haven't used the bleach kit yet because I'd bleached my hair previously, but the dye worked great. I love that the dye itself doesn't require mixing anything together, so I can just squeeze some out of the bottle as needed into my own dye mixing bowl, apply it to my hair, and then screw the cap back on the bottle and keep the rest for later. That way I don't have to get a whole new dye kit every time I touch up my color highlights. Great product!

Love Splat colors!
A few things to know about Splat products: 1) Hairdressers hate it. 2) It will stain. 3) Do not use their bleach. It is very harsh. 4) The color will stay forever & is not easy to get back out. I've used Splat products for years. I used to spend money for a hairdresser to do it, but their color washes away so fast. Plus, most people don't have an imagination to do your hair differently without specific instructions. I change my hair color every 6 weeks. I just do it myself now. I use a professional bleach & developer (Blonde Me). The Splat brand will fry your hair if you use it too much. It is also very drying. In the pictures, you can see what I had before. It was Splat pink fetish, a tiny spot of orange right in the front, & purple in the back. It had been close to 8 weeks or so since I had dyed my hair. I usually only lighten it every other time, so about every 12 weeks. You can see what it looked like after the bleach process in the 2nd picture. The last 2 pics are after it was done. The Splat Aqua Rush is the dark blue in the front & back. The light blue in the front is Punky Color & will not last long at all. The green & lighter aqua color are Artic Fox. After I bleach my hair, I literally take what colors I think I want & put them on a white towel to see what goes best. All of my colors are Splat or Artic Fox (with the exception of some Punky Color that I had left over from a long time ago.) I use Redken Acidic Color Gloss shampoo & conditioner. I also have some color-protecting conditioner that is left over from when I do the back in black or dark red from a box. If you are smart about this product, you can use it with great results.

Vibrant Color
Even without using the bleach, I reached my desired color after two applications. Absolutely the best box dye I have ever used

You're turning VIOLET, Violet!
This isn't the first time that I've purchased this kit. The other kit I bought was at my local drug store. The first time that I used it, it was on my son's hair. The lightening bleach worked well on him. He had "virgin" hair at the time and it turned his hair the lightest I've seen it from black. We did have to bleach it again to get it as light as he wanted it, though. We got red for him. It took really well and looked awesome when we were done. Everyone called him "Rufio" from the the movie "Hook". We had no problems with this kit. On to the Blue Envy and my hair.... My hair is a lot longer than his, so it took more work and more product. I had to get my hubby to help since I wanted to do my under growth (nape of neck). I used all of the bleach for my under growth and part of the frame of my face. Since part of my hair was already bleached a few months back, those areas got super white. I wish I could get it white like that all the time without having to bleach it so many times. The areas that were naturally black (the out growth), only turned a dark brown as if I went to the beach and the ocean and sun bleached it. Oh well, it ended up being kind of ombre'd from black to dark brown to blue. That part was framing my face and you really can't tell. I washed the bleach out and left it like that for a couple of days since I got busy with other things. I finally had time to use the hair color. Again, I needed my hubby's help. First off, getting the powder into the bottle is a chore! Use a paper to make a funnel to make it a lot easier for yourself. Read the directions and let the mixture set for a minute. It seems to expand a bit and the mixture turns more to a cream consistency. COVER EVERYTHING!!! Hands, ears, neck, shoulders, chair, floor....use a long sleeve shirt if you can. Even my hubby needed a long sleeve shirt. Use old towels or dark towels if you're using a dark dye. RUBBING ALCOHOL will help if you still get some dye on you. THIS STUFF STAINS EVERYTHING!!! and I mean EVERYTHING! Even my dog brushed up against a towel and turned blue. We bought good gloves in a large quantity and used those...BUT the edge of my hubby's very shorts nails still caught on the glove a couple of times in the past and tore it. He now uses two pairs while he dyes my hair. Good thing he did. He would have looked like he robbed a bank! Any little drops will stain. Go outside or cover the floor with a dollar store table "cloth". My hubby used a brush (for applying bleach or color) to apply the color and it splattered tiny dots all over himself, the ground and me. It doesn't matter how careful you are, it's going to get some place you didn't want it. Be sure not to step in it and then walk all over the place - in the house! Since the red that my son used didn't seem to get all over the place in the shower, I figured I'd be fine. I hopped into the shower and arched my back so my hair wasn't touching me. NOPE! Didn't work with this dye. Every other dye I've used, didn't stain my skin like this one did. It didn't matter how much I rinsed my hair out, the water was still pretty dark. I'm glad I had gloves on during that part. Normally, after I do my initial rinse I can take my gloves off and be stain free. But this time.... o.O My hands were blue after shampooing. I also had blue on my ears, cheeks, neck, shoulders, back, arms, my feet, even my nail polish on my toes. I rinsed longer than normal and then applied a conditioner. That that soak in a while longer than normal since I bleached it. Then rinsed again. Still, the water ran blue. By now the other dyes would have ran a tinted blue but still clear. I would suggest rinsing and washing in a sink and then putting your hair up to jump into the shower. I used an old, dark colored floor towel to wrap my hair. I toweled dry and then used a blow dryer so that my wet hair didn't stain my bed. It was so late by now, that my hubby went to bed and I had to ask my daughter to help me. I have a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol in it. She spritzed my back, shoulders and neck and then used cotton pads to wipe off all the blue. I lifted my feet to the sink and sprayed my heels and toes. Lastly, I sprayed and washed my hands. Thankfully, rubbing alcohol does the trick!! A spray bottle makes it handy!! I had an event the next day and I wouldn't want to go out of the house looking like Violet from Willy Wonka!!! The event that we attended was outdoors. It was 97 degrees and we were sweating. I had to put my hair up because if there was any moisture in my hair and it laid on my skin, it would stain. My hubby nearly gave me a friction burn trying to get a line of blue dye off of my neck where a couple of strands of hair wouldn't stay up. I wash my hair every other day and I dread it. I also dread having to blow dry my hair when I do wash it, but I know that if I don't, my damp hair will stain me and my bed. I'm wondering if it'll be like this for the life span of this color or if the transfer will stop. While I love the color it left in my hair, it's way too messy for my taste. The price is nice, but I think I'll probably go back to another dye that I know won't stain everything, including my pillow for weeks to come.

The best there is
This is my holy grail hair dye. I have been using this since I was a teenager, and it is still just as good today. The perfect purple color. I even use it without the bleach, and it is still super nice and vibrant. 100/10

Bad ass! But please read! ---->
Got this for penny's more than I would have at Walmart which is fine because all the stores I tried were out. I love love LOVE the color of my hair! I bleached out a darkish brown/ burgundy (burgundy faded had some light spots) and the bleach made it orange of coarse. So no biggie maybe the color will still hold. So I washed with shampoo AND CONDITIONER (which I didnt know you wernt supposed to do) hair still felt dead which is normal. So I get to the color and am freaking out because I was so excited and left it in for an hour (instructions say 30 minutes but i lost track of time) and it turned out FREAKING AMAZING! There are a few things I wanna warn about though. 1. I need two boxes for bleach AND COLOR. I have hair a little past my shoulders so its not long and most definitely not thick. Buy extra its worth it. 2. The bleach was dripping down my face! I used Vaseline but it ate right through it. Now I have light spots on my forehead. Do as the instructions say and wear a shower cap (it makes the bleach go evenly too which is a mistake I am upset I made) 3. THEY ARE NOT LYING ABOUT THE STAINING OF SKIN!!!!!! Once again I used the Vaseline but apparently not enough because 2 days later I am still covered in red all over. 4 DO NOT COLOR YOUR ROOTS! I'm not talking so much about the bleach because I did it with some burning but was overall fine. But two days later I still have color CAKED on my scalp... They say to rinse till its clear but its impossible to get this crap off your scalp. (dont worry it will eventually) Thats really the only bad part about this product, but they warn you not to do it so I guess its my fault. Over all this product is freaking amazing the color is phenomenal and despite my roots being platinum vs my ends being dark orange the red came out very even. looks like I was born with outrageously bright red hair! lol

Works Well!
I have used almost every brand of hair dye out their and splat has several thing about it that I like. -It doesn't use peroxide so it is much better for your hair than a box dye. -The colors they have are very vibrant and pretty on bleached hair (what's more important than the color being pretty?) -It last longer than most hair dyes that don't contain peroxide (although I have used products that last a little longer, but not in orange) -You can mix some of it in your shampoo and it will stay much longer and keep vibrant (I use about half shampoo/half dye and I don't have to wear gloves when I put it on as long as I wash my hands in the shower right after I put the shampoo on) -You can also mix it in a clear hair glaze. This works really well and can bring it back to vibrant even after it has faded. What I don't like about it: -It stains everything! You can't get it anywhere on your scalp or skin or your counters. It is less of a problem with this orange color, but with the darker read and blue you really have to watch out. It takes me at least an hour longer to dye my hair using splat than with normal dyes because I'm really careful not to come out with a stained head (trust me it stands out if you part your hair and their is a big spot of dye there. So don't skip using the Vaseline around your hair line and neck and still be carefully even if you do. Also when you wash it out of your hair I would advise spraying a bleach cleaner all in your tub so the dye wont stick it to. It's not too hard to clean off the tub even if you don't spray first, but it's better to just have it not stick at all. -The bleach included is very poor. It does work, but seems to damage hair more than other bleach. Also when I used it (my hair is naturally a medium brown) it turned out very yellow and not the normal blonde color I was expecting. Unless if you leave it on for a very long time then it is lighter blonde but also your hair is more damaged, and the more damaged your hair is the less the dye will stick to your hair. I never use the bleach included, I either give it away or throw it out. I think you should pick what volume of peroxide is in your developer according to your natural hair color, so this peroxide in a box is not going to work well for everyone's hair. With those long complaints said I still love this product because the dye is more of a stain and last longer than most demi permanent dyes. Also I like that you can mix it in your shampoo to keep it looking bright. That doesn't work with all dyes (manic panic doesn't help at all in your shampoo) and doesn't ever work for dyes with peroxide in them. It will be a problem that it lasts long if you want to change your color to something that clashes it (you can put a red or pink on top of it, but not a green) but if you think you might not want it for very long then you should just try one of the splat boxes that washes out in a week. little tips: -If your hair is damaged too much from bleaching the dye will not stick right or it will turn out great only to wash out way too soon (I have been in both situations where it only dyed the area in my hair that was just bleached [my roots] and no where else and when it dyed it all but didn't last long) -Make sure your hair has the right ph balance (you can by ph balancing shampoo and conditioner if needed) and that you have a good amount of protein and moisturizer in your hair. I recommend leaving conditioner on your hair for 15 or 20 minutes after you bleach it, and if it is not your first time bleaching your hair then i would suggest either doing a moisturizing treatment or leaving the conditioner on your hair all night long. Just make sure that if you do a protein treatment you don't over do it to the point where your hair is hard and brittle (been there: only a moisturizing treatment can save you now) -if you are worried about how much the bleach will damage your hair you can add in a clarifying shampoo to tone it down a bit. If you have black hair this is not recommended because the bleach will not be strong enough to make your hair blonde, but for medium brown, red, or dark blonde hair this should still lift your hair just fine. -pouring a half distilled white vinegar/half water on your hair and leave it on for a minute after the wait time is up and before you wash out the dye can help the dye last longer (I mix a cup of each together in a measuring cup and just pour it in my hair while i'm bent over the tub, and put some on my gloved hands to make sure it got on the front of my hair also. They i kinda massage it in for just a minute then start the rinsing with luke warm water but ending with cold) -wash your hair separately from when you take a shower using cold water (unless if you don't mind taking a cold shower) -if you are trying to remove the dye mix a very small amount of bleach together (1/4 a teaspoon of bleach and peroxide) and mix it with a clarifying shampoo. Shampoo your hair like normal only leave in the shampoo for a couple of minutes before rinsing it out. This will take the dye right out from your hair! If it doesn't take it out as much as you need it to you can repeat the process. You can also add more of the bleach to your shampoo but if it is too strong it will actually bleach your hair again instead of just lifting some of the hair dye.

endlich!!

best black hair dye I've ever tried
got to say been using black hair dye for 25 years and so glad I tried this , Was a little worried about the fact that I'd read it was a more liquid consistency than most hair dyes which it is but despite that I found it made less mess and easier to apply to long hair . The colour is the best thing it is a true rich black and my hair is not fading after several washes and is a lot shinier . Just really pleased with it and will stick to this in future
