This is a well made charger that comes with both ring and clamp connectors and a decent amount of cable. Silent in operation, with compact dimensions. It has 2 operating modes - charge and maintain/condition (long term connection )- and is suitable for motorcycles and most cars. I’d say, as budget options go, this is a good choice. And I’d buy it again.

This is a very good purchase, and charges the motorbike very well. I like the way it's rain proof, and you can hang it off the handlebars with the rotating clip, my only real gripe, (hence one star off) is that it doesn't show you the amount of amps it's pulling, which is nice to know when charging. but overall very pleased with product.

Faulty. Charged but would not enter maintain mode even if batt volts went low <12.3. Box had been opened & dusty. Returned same day. Gave 5 star otherwise reviews get pushed low

In my opinion this unit performs better than many more expensive changers. Easy to use , automatic charging cycle so no worries about over charging, looks to be well constructed and resistant to damp, just as well in the UK, no need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle.

I have had one of these before and found it very good. I got it first during lockdown when I wasn’t using the car and battery went flat. The only reason I got a new one is because I broke the original.

Nice charger great price and works well. Only negative is the lead is not a sae connector so if you have an existing sae lead on your vehicle you want to use you will have to add a sae end on the charger

Bought the Ring SmartCharge 4A to keep the car battery topped up and it does exactly what it says. Simple to set up and clearly laid out, even the guide on the box makes it obvious what to do. Connection is straightforward. Red clamp to positive, black to negative, plug it into the mains, then press the button to select the right mode. For most cars it’s just the 12V setting, or the snowflake option in colder weather. After that it takes over and manages everything automatically. What’s important, and easy to overlook, is selecting the correct battery type. This charger supports standard lead-acid batteries, AGM batteries (often used in start-stop cars), and lithium (LFP). Each one charges at a slightly different voltage and pattern. If you pick the wrong mode, you’re either undercharging or stressing the battery. For example, using the normal mode on an AGM battery can leave it not fully charged over time. Using the wrong setting on a lithium battery can be more serious and potentially damage it. The charger is smart, but it still relies on you choosing the correct profile. It’s ideal if the car isn’t used daily. Once connected, it charges and then switches to maintenance mode, so there’s no risk of overcharging. That’s the main benefit. You can leave it on and forget about it. Build quality feels solid and the cables are a decent length. The indicators are clear enough to see what it’s doing without needing to overthink it. Not the fastest charger, but that’s not the point. It’s a maintainer first and does that job properly. Overall, very well designed, easy to use, reliable, straightforward, and good value. Does the job without any fuss, as long as you select the right battery mode.
