Well built and easy to operate. Spreads light very evenly even when used with a speed light with a fresnel head. I was doubtful of the small size but it helps create beautiful soft shadows even on wide shots (full body portraits) from a distance of 12 feet.

I’ve been using the Godox S85T 85cm quick release umbrella softbox in a small studio setup, and the quick-release mechanism is a big advantage. It opens and locks into place much faster than traditional rod-style softboxes, which makes setup and breakdown efficient. Light diffusion is smooth and even. The included diffusion layers soften the output nicely without creating harsh hotspots, making it suitable for portrait work, product shots, and video content. The 85cm size provides a good balance between portability and light spread. Build quality feels solid, and the internal structure holds its shape well once assembled. The Bowens mount connection fits securely on compatible lights without wobble. While I'm new to the world of lighting as a pro musician for over 20 years, this has been my favorite 48" softbox by far to date!!! It's super easy to open and close, has a really convenient zipper on the side for easy access to the open close/release once you have your diffusers installed, has a huge even light spread, and is super lightweight to boot! The shallow depth also really helps to make it feel like a smaller softbox (especially during storage) while still actually giving IHMO a very similar output to other (seemingly) much larger 48" softboxes. The inner diffuser has a double layer in the center which pretty much gets rid of any hot spots, in fact, I ended up getting the best results using only the inner diffuser rather than the outer. I also picked up the beauty dish plate attachment which makes it possible to run it with NO diffuser resulting in the most dramatic (brightest) lighting of all! Highly recommended. The soft boxes are great, but lowering by 1 star because the customer service for the seller, Xingzema, does not exist. I was missing a nut on one of the 3 soft boxes I purchased, and their automated bot has you contact Amazon to get one. Amazon says the seller or manufacturer needs to resolve it sop the sent me a link to Godox which I already had through Google. I've contacted Godox who has agreed to pressure the seller to resolve the issue, but so far, it has not been resolved.

This is without doubt my favourite softbox. Great size, super lightweight, really soft light and you can put it up and take it down in a matter of seconds. I don’t even need to remove either diffusion sheet. One of the buys of the year for me.

Acheté il y a 6 mois, cette boite à lumière de campagne me donne toutes satisfactions. Rapide à monter, elle n'est pas pingre en diversité de lumières. Sans rien devant, avec le réflecteur argenté, la puissance est là. Ensuite, on peut mettre un diffuseur, puis un autre (livrés les 2 avec) si la lumière n'est pas assez douce. On peu rajouter une grille nid d'abeille (option payante) et aussi un disque réflecteur (option payante également) pour la transformer en disque beauté. En déplacement on un ensemble de possibilités avec un seul système, ce qui permet de ne pas se surcharger, d'autant que le 65 cm est compacte une fois replié.

I got my hands on the Godox softbox through Amazon Vine. Just so you know, that means they sent me a free one to test, but they didn't pay me to write this, and I'm going to give you my honest take on the product. I own a bunch of softboxes and umbrellas of all different brands, shapes, and sizes. But when I'm on the move, I tend to grab my umbrellas because they're just so darn portable and easy to use. I figured I'd give the Godox Quick Release a shot . I specifically went for the 65cm size since I wanted something small that could easily slip in my gear bag. First good news, this little softbox is exactly what I was hoping for size-wise. When folded, it's only about 33cm long. You get the usual stuff you'd expect with a softbox: inner and outer diffusion fabrics, plus a carrying bag. No surprises there. One thing to note: it doesn't come with an egg crate panel. Now, the product photos do show a diffusion plate, but it wasn't included in my package. I've checked review photos from other folks, and they didn't seem to get one either. Godox, you might want to update your pictures or give a clearer breakdown of what's in the box. Anyway, the softbox feels nicely made. The quick-release mechanism is where this thing really shines. It's super smooth and literally takes only a couple of seconds to open or close. Fantastic! Since I own a ton of Bowens-mount lights, both flash and continuous, the included Bowens adapter was a big plus for me and my workflow. I tested it out shooting portraits as a sort of makeshift beauty dish, and it did a great job creating flattering, soft light on my subjects. An egg crate would've been the cherry on top to really control that light spill, and I need to check if Godox makes one for this size. All in all, this little softbox is a winner in my book. If you're looking for something with a small footprint, great build quality, and crazy-fast setup, it's definitely worth checking out.

Very convenient, I love it. I used to take with me the 140cm non quick release version.. it was always a mess to install. Now it’s very convenient to go and shoot on location. The quality is good.
