Of course I found this after I stocked up on months worth of pool shock. You throw it in your pump basket or your skimmer basket and let it do it's thing killing algae for up to 6 months. Recommended to clean your filter first as you aren't supposed to clean in after installing for about 2 weeks. Needless to say I'm sitting on a pile of stocked up shock still since I haven't really needed a lick of it. I was so impressed I told my neighbor. He was so impressed he told his children and his friends. So far it seems to last longer in salt water pools but that's only my experience, you may get completely different results. I test my own water and balance everything myself, and I'm still on my first one.
