LiteOn ES1 Ultra-Slim Portable USB 2.0 DVD Writer - Black

So I bought a couple of cheaper drives on Amazon, that had lots of 5 star reviews, only to find that they were actually Chinese junk, noisy, ugly, lots of read errors. I bought one of these to replace the junk ones, and didn't regret it. It's very smooth and quiet, and reads mosts of my scratched up disks flawlessly. Don't be tempted to save a tenner buying the cheap stuff! Buy a known brand such as this.

Quite cheap to buy but pretty good quality, so far so good.

Worked out of the gate with both Windows and Linux. Good value for money. I wanted an external optical drive as my new PC build has no room for one due to my own build decisions. The drive is attached to a port on the back of the PC via a two meter extension cable but that has not troubled the unit at all. It gets used for ripping audio CDs to FLAC but I have tested it with a regular movie DVD and that was fine too.

Plays DVDs ok on a mac but will not burn/erase from either Linux or Mac OS computers.

Worked as it should

The only let down was not with the product but the delivery driver who walked past my front door to put it my half full bin but then marked it as handed to resident. I know i'm trash but damn!!! The drive is slim, fast enough for USB 2 and quiet for a good price.

Stopt working in just two week. The fitting that the holds the leade just fell into the LiteOn ES1 Ultra-Slim Portable USB 2.0 DVD Writer. Hens I would give it zero marks. I don't know how to send it back help some one.

Great! Exactly what I needed. Very slim and easy as plugging supplied cable into laptop. Wanted to read some material on CDs so this does the job.

Ho acquistato questo lettore dvd perchè avendo comprato un case da gaming non mi era più possibile montarci un lettore dvd da 5.25 pollici in quanto i case da gaming non prevedono l'alloggiamento per lettori dvd da 5.25 pollici. Il lettore in questione funziona benissimo,nella confezione è presente il lettore,il cavo mini usb per collegarlo al computer e un dvd contenente il programma nero 12 in versione trial. E' la prima volta che acquisto un lettore dvd della marca LITEON e devo dire che mi sembra una marca buona ed è estremamente silenzioso quando masterizza e quando vengono letti cd e dvd. L'unico neo se cosi si può chiamare,mi sembra un pò delicato come lettore dvd,ma forse è solamente una mia impressione. Comunque lo consiglio per quelle persone che come me hanno case da gaming o pc portatili che non dispongono di un lettore dvd. Funziona perfettamente su Windows 10 Home :)

Nachdem ich mein externes Laufwerk von M.way enttäuscht zurückschicken musste bin ich mit diesem hier sehr zufrieden. Vorher habe ich mir ein paar Testberichte angesehen und mich dann für dieses entschieden. Das erkennen des Laufwerks lief ohne Probleme, ebenso der DVD und CDs. Kein gemoser das mein Win10 das nicht erkennt und man es 2 oder 3 mal rein- und rausstecken oder sich ein anderes Filmprogramm drauf spielen muss. Die Filme spielt er in hervorragende Qualität ab ohne ständiges aufhängen oder als wäre der Film nicht sauber verarbeitet indem er die Übergänge nicht sauber sind oder hackt. Das Brennen von DVDs und CDs habe ich noch nicht ausprobiert, aber es liegt die Nero CD mit bei, sodass es denke ich kein Problem sein wir. Sollten Ergebnisse vorliegen, dann werde ich davon berichten.
