If it is lost or broken, replace with a hardened steel pin measuring 30mmL x 5mmDia. **Q: I have had no luck removing the lock nut. Is it left-hand thread, or right-hand thread? Thank You** A: Hello Pal63, this is a standard right hand thread (right to tighten. left to loosen). It is torqued to 53ftlbs so it takes some effort. As in our video on YouTube (RS800 CVT Transmission) the tool is put on top of the pin that goes through the input shaft so you can put a wrench on it. Pliers or Vice grips will mar the input shaft and the pulley may get hung up on any marks made by them.
