Is this due to the wattage of the bulb?** A: Hi there, thanks for your question. The maximum wattage recommended for the bulb is 60watts, which is standard. The very few incidents we have had, have been due to installation problems. The part that fits on the bulb fixture was not installed correctly and fell on the bulb. The lampshades are made from a safe plastic that is non-toxic, heat resistant and fire retardant that has undergone rigorous testing. Please contact us if you need any more information. The bulb you need depends on the light /bulb fixture you have. If your bulb is the type that screws on, then you need the E27, if the bulb is the type that has the 2 little bars that hook on, then you need the B22.
