I use "saddle soap" here and there to help condition the shoe and I feel like that helps with scuffs and minor rips/scuffs. **Q: How about scotch guarding them? Took a chance with these on Amazon, and I am very pleased with them. These shoes are a welted construction, and should last a very long time. The soles do not appear to be glued on like they commonly are, so when these wear I will likely be able to have the soles repaired or replaced. Not that I think they will soon, I've worn these for a few weeks already and they wear very slowly.The leather uppers have a bit of a rustic appearance. I ordered the brown color and I would say the leather is like a high-grade working leather, with a few flaws but overall a neat appearance. I treat my casual leather shoes with mink oil to waterproof them, and these shoes take the treatment well. They do leave creases in the bend of the toe, but I don't mind that look. The mink oil helps to minimize this as well.As far as comfort I would say they are quite comfortable, if a bit small for their size. Wear-in took about a week.Overall great bargain on a well-made shoe, I'll update my review in a year's time and speak of their durability. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ GET THEM!! *by T***1 on September 21, 2016* These shoes are awesome. I tried these on at DSW shoes and fell in love with them. I then do what I always do and check Amazon for them. I found them. They had these and I immediately ordered them since there were only 3 left at that time. These are by far my favorite shoes from my collection. They look great. They feel great. I can wear them all day and not worry about my feet hurting. I have spent twice as much for other shoes, but these are by far that much better. You will not be disappointed. I love the look of the tan shoe with the red around it. I have gotten so many compliments on these. If you are looking at these, GET THEM. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My foot is pretty wide, and these are sufficient for 'M' *by K***I on February 24, 2017* These shoes are well-made and fit as expected. My foot is pretty wide, and these are sufficient for 'M'. Few notable items:- There are only 2 lace holes - this is worth noting as it relates to other characteristics of the shoe- The leather is pretty stiff. If you are looking for a supple leather shoe out of the box, this is not it.- The leather around the heel is also stiff, which brings me to the 2 lace holes - if there were the customary 3 or more, it would help anchor your heel in the shoe during the break-in period. I anticipate this taking a week or 2 of regular wear.- I applied mink oil, and will keep it on hand as this type of leather can scuff pretty easily.None of the above are deal breakers for me, but things to be aware of. Again, the overall craftsmanship appears very solid, they look good, and are pretty comfortable already (2-3 days of wear). Would I consider these all-day walkers? no - but the styling is a nice hybrid of casual/dress.
