Works great, sized for1-2 people, is uncomplicated, and does a good job ..... quietly.
I love my little air fryer. Perfect size for one person (me!), and not a ton of knobs and gadgets to deal with. Just a basic air fryer that does what it is supposed to do, and does it fairly quietly, taking up very little space. Simple to clean, simple and uncomplicated to use. So refreshing in this age where everything has to be so damned complicated and clunky to use in real life. I am happy with this purchase and I recommend this Dash air fryer.

Best appliance ever!
I totally love this air fryer! I use it almost every day. I am losing weight, and this has really opened up so many possibilities to make plain food fabulous! I use it for EVERYTHING! Makes fantastic homemade chicken nuggets, "fried" vegetables, fish, roasted new potatoes....everything comes out wonderfully crispy and/or browned. It even makes a humble veggie burger into a restaurant quality meal! I like the food so much better without all the oil that you have to use with frying or even sauteing. It's super easy to use and to clean. It is attractive - I have the turquoise color, and it looks good on the counter. It is very small and hardly takes up any space. It is very convenient, and I don't have to heat up the oven or stove to just make a quick lunch. Just a few things to think about: The timer knob is black, and the dot to set the time is just a raised black bump. It is really hard to see when you are turning the knob. I was thinking of putting a dot of paint on there or something so I can actually see it. Also, this fryer is very small. It only has room to cook a serving for ONE. It's perfect if you just want to make a meal for yourself, but if you want to cook dinner for two or more, I'd recommend getting the bigger size. Overall, this is the best little appliance! Love it!

Great cooking appliance, but watch the non-stick coating
I've had the Dash Compact Air Fryer for nearly 6 months, and I love it. It's small and prefect for 1-2 people. Great quick toaster oven that creates health crispy food with little or no oil. It works by circulating air over the top of the food, so you need to flip over or toss the food. PROS: It's perfectly cooks food that comes in smaller pieces (french fries) or meat that cooks up quickly (beef, shrimp, salmon). Oven Fried Chicken: I could never get my oven fried chicken to get crispy like a oil deep fryer. After baking it in the oven, I would quickly air fry for 5 minutes to give in a crispy skin and coating. Frozen Fries: Works well with most types of frozen french fries, but Shoe String Fries are the best for air frying due to their thin cut. CONS: 1. The Non-Stick Coating. A lot of comments complain about the non-stick coating flaking off. Many modern cooking appliances have cheap non-stick coating, and this is no exception. I used to have a Foreman grill that had the same problem. I learned through past experience to use parchment paper under my food to prevent the food from sticking and the flaking of the non-stick coating. PRO-TIP: For the Dash Compact Air Fryer, I used the removable circular tray to trace and cut out perfect parchment paper liners (see pictures). It makes clean up super easy and preserves the coating on the cooking surface. I added a picture of my air fryer tray after 6 months of regular use (looks like new). It takes about a minute to cut the parchment paper to size, and I usually pre-cut a dozen ahead of time. Don't pre-heat the air-fryer with parchment paper inside because it will be blown up into the heating element and burn the paper. Make sure the parchment paper is weighed down by food. 2. The Spring-loaded Timer. The manual timer is spring loaded and requires sufficient tension to be accurate. If you set the timer for less than 5 minutes, it will turn off before the 5 minutes. I'm not certain if this is a design flaw or just my machine (your mileage may vary). I wouldn't recommend cooking anything for less the 5 minutes. Most food requires more than 5 minutes, so this shouldn't be a huge problem. 3. Thick food. This is not just a problem for this brand or model. All air fryers operate by pushing hot air over the surface of the food. So, thinner slices of food work better. I wouldn't cook a thick cut of steak in it (unless you like it blue) or thick cuts of pork/chicken. As I mentioned above, I would bake thicker pieces of meat in the oven and crisp the outside in the air fryer. For food cut into small pieces (like fries), lay them on the tray in a single thin layer. Don't fill the basket to top. Despite the few drawbacks, I love the Dash Compact Air Fryer. It doesn't do everything, but it's great at one thing: making things crispy. I use it for baked salmon, crisp up baked fried chicken, cook frozen fries, burgers, bratwurst, etc. It permanently replaced my toaster oven, and its thinner footprint means I save counter space. PS: If you have leftover fried food, try re-heating it in the air fryer. It will make it crispy again.

Works as hoped and I'm totally happy with purcahse.
Item arrived on time and was packaged quite nicely. I've only used it three times thus far, but it's done a great job of cooking items (shrimp, onion rings, chicken strips, frozen hash browns) both quickly and thoroughly. I'm completely happy with the fryer. Only three minor negatives: 1) It did let off some rather unpleasant electrical smells on the first couple of uses. At first it smelled like burning wiring or something, but it has diminished to almost nil with additional use. It did not affect the taste of the food., 2) The timer knob and scale is very difficult for my aging eyes to read. First off the print is minuscule on the scale and secondly the knob has nothing other than a little molded dot in the black plastic. I'd suggest a white dot on the knob for contrast (I'll probably do that to mine). If your eyes are good, or there's lots of light this probably isn't a concern., 3) What color is it? Depending on ambient light and the angle you view it at, this unit is sometimes truly turquoise but other times mint green. The only importance or consideration I gave to the color is the price of the unit (this color was considerably less expensive). Still, it's quite attractive regardless of the color. Edited 9/12/18: As a followup and having used the fryer a lot I'm overall quite pleased. Only two new observations: 1) The weird electrical smell took longer to go away than I originally thought or hoped, and 2) Foods have begun to stick to the non-stick insert (despite having only been washed with a sponge and detergent + water) This can be reduced by spraying a little oil on it prior to cooking but that does diminish the point to it a bit.

Such a great little fryer!
It’s perfect for making single serving meals and appetizers for two. It cooks evenly and I have just taken frozen fries, frozen tater tots, frozen buffalo chicken wyngz, and frozen mozzarella sticks, so far into the fryer. Straight from packaging to cooking and it’s easy. I usually cut the full cooking time in half and when it dings, I turn the items over. With fries, I shake them and “stir them” with tongs about 3 times during the cooking process. Everything turned out great. My guest was impressed with the mozzarella sticks in particular because they were perfect and without the grease. Cleanup is easy! It’s non-stick, if you didn’t read the description, and you just need to shake out crumbs before wiping with a soft sponge with soap and water. They recommend wiping the heating element off if grease or food gets stuck to it. The fan sits above the food, and the fan pushes the heat down to the food. So it’s not going to get dirty often unless someone overloads the basket. I keep it to one layer of chicken or mozzarella sticks, but fries take up more room. It’s fairly quiet, and certainly not noisy. You just hear the whole of the fan. It gets to peak heat within minutes and it has to be cheaper than heating a whole oven for one person to eat a meal or snack. I hate using the oven for something like fries or tater tots. It’s a waste of energy ($$$) for something so simple. One tip is to preheat the unit by running it for about 3 minutes before you put food in to cook. This way the energy used during cooking will go directly to your food rather than not be able to gauge how well the food is cooking. You’d have to preheat your oven for 5 minutes and it’s a much bigger use of energy. Those photos were not taken for this review. I just happened to have a few I took to send to someone when I was cooking dinner with it. So that’s from my first go-round. If you are cooking for more than one, then get something bigger, but if you’re cooking for yourself, then this will help you out nicely.

Great for those who like fried foods AND their health
I LOVE fried foods but I have to watch what I eat for health reasons, so among other changes I've had to make to my diet, fried everything had to go. I can still eat some of what I used to, it just has to be seasoned and cooked a different way. This handy thing made the BEST roasted potatoes with almost no oil in probably half the time as it usually takes to bake them, and I didn't have to turn the oven on which is a huge plus for me with my old dinosaur-stove. I also used it for onions, mushrooms, and various other vegetables which also worked well, and eggplant, which did not come out great (dry and rubbery so I just tossed in to some spaghetti sauce) but eggplant can be tricky no matter how you cook it. Perfect for 1 or 2 people or someone who doesn't have a lot of space for bulky appliances, being that it's around the same size as a food processor or blender, and it's a breeze to clean. It's plastic (doesn't get hot in the outside) but seems of decent quality. I don't use it every day or even once a week, and I'm very careful about how I wash the basket and pan, so I'm hoping it'll last a good long while.

This air fryer works great -- but not too well made cosmetically
This air fryer works great! We have been pleased with everything we have cooked in it - fries, chicken nuggets, tater tots, even a burger. I wanted a smaller, compact fryer because I was a huge doubter about air fryers in general and didn't want to spend a lot on a "what if." Now that I know they're so useful if I bought another one I would definitely get a digital timer. This Dash model has a knob for a timer. If you go past the minutes you want you cannot turn it backwards. Plus it is difficult to see how many minutes you have set it for or how many minutes are remaining. I painted a white line on the knob to make it easier to read. But the issue that irks me the most is that the finish is already worn off the basket handle (see photo). I have had this fryer for 23 days and it has been used maybe 12-15 times. There is no reason why it should already be showing wear. I have submitted a replacement request to Dash. Update #1 6/2/2022 - Because I had this fryer less than 30 days Dash requires that it be returned to Amazon. I have done this and a new, same-model fryer is being sent to me. I assume this same wear issue will happen with the second fryer. If it does I will definitely shop for another brand. Update #2 6/30/2022 - The finish on the replacement (second) fryer also began wearing off after only three weeks. I'm finished with Dash products and have already purchased a different brand fryer. I do not recommend this fryer.

Incorrect voltage for the UAE
The one star is not because the product is bad. I have included it because there is no way of leaving the review without including stars. The voltage for this product is 110V and does not automatically convert to 220V. I forgot to check that when I ordered it because it never crossed my mind that Amazon would sell 110V products in 220V country. I find it a bit ridiculous that 110V electronic product is being sold in a country which does not have 110V voltage supply. My product obviously lasted less than a min before blowing up. If I had bought the product in N. America and brought it here this would make sense. However, selling 110V equipment for the UAE market makes no sense.

I love my new Dash air fryer
I wasn't sure I would like my air fryer, but after using it for over a week now, I know I love it!!! The size is compact and fits well on my kitchen counter and the red color is amazing. Everything I have made from fries, to pizza, crispy beef, turkey thighs, pork tenderloin and cauliflower bites has been easy to do and turned out delicious. The size is definitely for one person and you can not do very big portions in it. So if you are hoping to make multiple things in it at once this is not the size for you. At this point it's a good size for me. I'm so glad I purchased it and there are wonderful groups on Facebook to help with recipes and ideas.

Never using a toaster again
I purchased this after many toasters and toaster ovens that failed to give my family the even crispy crunch on food. Not sure why this is called a "fryer" there is no frying involved. It is basically a small oven that blows air inside the heating chamber thus providing for a more even bake. For anything small where you don't want to turn your oven on, this will do a perfect job. Cleaning is simpler than any other small kitchen appliance you have. I have made in this: small pizzas, grilled cheese and any other sandwiches that you would heat, au gratin anything in small ramekins, baked potatoes, quiches, etc. For the money, excellent value. Also, takes almost no space on the counter due to the vertical design so - perfect!
