It’s deck tape — and it does exactly what it should. I’ve used plenty of brands over the years, but this one stands out for its durability and easy application. The adhesive grips well and stays in place even during warm weather, and I really appreciate that it has a plastic backing instead of paper. The paper-lined types tend to tear or stick to themselves, which wastes time and tape. This one peels smoothly and applies cleanly, saving a lot of frustration. I’ve purchased this twice now for my ongoing deck project, and every roll has been consistent in quality. It provides a solid moisture barrier and peace of mind knowing the joists are protected. If I need more, I’ll definitely buy this brand again — it’s dependable, easy to work with, and well worth the price.

I have used this product on a few decks so far and love it! Provides great protection to top of joist and the ashes and “rubber” material adheres to the threads of the screws to provide a better seals vs the “old” way of wood on wood contact. My application on this project was for roof trusses on a pergola as the customer wanted a clear polycarbonate roof. It will provide extra protection against leaks down the road and it also helped keep the sheets from sliding down the pitch of the roof during install. The backing can be a bit frustrating to take off after being cut to length and has ripped if you get rushed when taking off. Slow pace is best. The adhesive is pretty strong and stays in place when applied. I have used other brands and it will peel off pretty easily. This one STAYS PUT! I highly recommend for its waterproofing/protection and adhesion when applied! I will definitely buy again!

Excellent value and choice for protecting your new deck joists. I bought a few different vendors of this and they are mostly the same The primary complaint with all is depending on the temp the clear protective tape can sometimes be very hard to get started peeling off and semi-frequently rips and makes you work hard to get restarted Beyond that I feel confident this tech will extend the life of these joists and is worth the cost and effort to install. All the brands had about the same thickness of butyl and I feel more than sufficient. Sticks great when dry - not ideal to apply when wet but in Nov I had no options. We ended up stapling to ensure it stayed put.

The tape worked well. It took a day or two of summer sun until it really stuck to my deck joists but it was better than the stuff (sorry, I can't remember that brand) that I bought at Lowe's. Much cheaper too.

Sufficiently covered the width of the joist. Super sticky: it easily adhered to older dry joist and to newly replaced joist that were still moist. The backing pulled off with ease. I this instance, 6 rolls was plenty of a 12’x20’ deck.

Replaced the decking and put this tape on each stringer, it worked great, perfect size and thickness and made the deck support waterproof.

Product was easy to use. It's a good product.
