Review: L O V E this stuff, would recommend it hands down. - Valsugana is THE best brand of pre-cooked polenta out there. My family have been using it since I was a child; it's a shame that you can't get it in stores in the UK now like you used to be able to. Serious comfort food, we use it in traditional Italian style as a substitute for pasta/rice/etc or cooled, sliced and fried; we use it African style to eat with stews and tinned fish; Asian style 'roti' when kneaded into a dough and cooked in ghee - it's extremely versatile. Naturally you can also use it for cornbread, muffins and cakes too. Naturally gluten free, it's the ultimate diet food as it tends to expand in the stomach and keep to full and satiated for hours - no snacking here! Valsugana is delightfully yellow in colour and give the most lovely aroma when cooking. As a previous reviewer has stated, it's hardly 'instant' in that it takes exactly 10mins to cook through, from adding to water to when it started leaving the sides of the pan to indicate that it's ready. But, if you've ever had to cooked polenta from the non pre-cooked stuff, it definitely beats constant stirring for half an hour or so! I love this stuff, would recommend this brand to anyone and everyone. Review: Good but not "instant" - Very good polenta but it is not as "instant" as it seems at first sight ,you need to cook it for 5 to 8 minutes while stirring well all the time .Not a big deal for me but I think that the word "instant" is misleading.
