Everything you need to get into sharpening
The stones are high quality and will last for years with heavy use. I was able to get a hang of it in a few hours. While their aren't super clear instructions on how to actually sharpen your knives, this was intentional because everyone seems to think they have the best method or form to use whetstones. As long as you keep the stones wet and hold the angle you are trying to, you can get great results. Stones are hard enough for my carbon steel knives but might struggle with some of the supersteel that pocket knives are starting to use more regularly. The stopping compound seems to be working very well (some people seem to think that the green compound is the worst but this one has been corse enough to remove any stubborn flakes of burr and fine enough to polish any remaining scratches or inconsistencies in tbe edge. After learning more and getting a feel for the process, their are only two things I might look for in the future to expand on this kit. A more aggressive Dimond stone to rough cut new primary bevels as it can be a slow process with the 400 grit stone if you need to remove a lot of material for knives that may have never been sharpened and a wooden strop with leather attached with adhesive. The strop from the kit can be difficult to hold on a flat surface.

will need 3rd party instructions to use
There is definitely a learning curve to using this type of sharpening system, but this is a good beginner's kit that comes with everything you need to get started *safely,* including a cut resistant glove and a sharpening guide. Unfortunately, it does not come with much in the way of instructions - basically a folded index card size paper with poor diagrams and generalities like "sharpen at the correct angle, please use the guide" which someone who has never sharpened a knife before would have no context for understanding how to actually do that. I've used other sharpening systems, and fortunately was able to find some basic videos about wet stone sharpening online to figure it all out. But I feel like a product clearly intended as a starter kit, should put a bit more effort into actually documenting its use. Also, the box it comes in is unsuitable for long term storage. I put it all into a mesh pouch to avoid any issues with mildew after the cardboard box predictably fell apart. It seems like they could include at least something similar to keep all the pieces together. But all in all, I'm pretty happy with it. The stones themselves work quite well even in my inexperienced hands, and its an excellent value for the money, so I'll give this four stars.

GREAT VALUE, NICE WHETSTONE SHARPENING KIT
This is an extremely nice set with large surface whetstones. It is an incredible value for the economical price. I sharpen scissors, knives and yard tools. Today, I sharpened garden shears. Easy to use.

Great product for any level of knowledge.
Great set of entry level stones. They donโt have to be fancy to do the job though. They work as intended if you understand the aspect of working with blades and metal. Recommended! Knives are sharper than factory sharpening. The angle guide is great for beginners, however, I free hand.

Good size, but lacking quality.
Not a good knife sharpening kit, looks very cheap and produces inconsistent results, If you are into sharpening honing your knife edge, buy more expensive stones. I would suggest investing into more expensive kit from US manufacturer

Does its job
This allows me to keep our knives sharp and cutting like they should. It took a little practice and patience, but it's well worth the effort. I did find the angle guide awkward to use, though.
