You can comfortably adjust the pillow to sit flat or elevated. I have also been able to write and do crafts on the stand laying flat without the need to hold it in place! IT'S WORTH THE MONEY! This is exactly what I needed. This well-made lap desk holds an ipad, phone or book at the perfect angle for hands-free reading whether laying in bed or sitting on the sofa. Filled with micro beads, the pillow portion of the lap desk is soft yet firm and conforms perfectly to your lap. It's the perfect size and weight making it easy to pick up and carry. Great value for the money too. I highly recommend.
