What a great cube. I love that it’s for the 50th anniversary of the Rubik’s cube. It looks great, with shiny gold on one side! Great value for money as I bought this when it was on offer. Comes in a nice little clear plastic tub so looks good. Easy to turn the cube and it’s the normal size of a Rubik’s cube. Really pleased with it.

I am a big fan of Rubik's cubes, and felt compelled to write this review to counter the clueless 1* reviews that are complaining that it's difficult to turn. *This is a replica of the ORIGINAL cube, it turns like garbage because it's literally the original design* Yes, it's frankly horrible to use because modern cubes, including the modern Rubik's brand ones, turn SO much smoother. But that isn't the point of this product, it's celebrating the 50th anniversary of the cube. So it's primary function is a display piece, but I quite like letting people have a go turning it so they can appreciate how far cube tech has come. Buy a Moyu or Qiyi or GAN or any other speedcube brand if you want a cube that actually turns well. And I know this is "true" to the original because I have an original 1980s cube to compare it to, it's the same.

I have been a Rubik’s Cube fan for 40 years and have an original 1980’s one as well as various others. Saw this 50th Anniversary version advertised as a retro version as per the original and ordered it as an addition to my collection. I don’t intend to use it very much as I have others to use. But I am very pleased with it I have to say. Authentic looking box and the cube has the same feel and movement as the original…just a bit clunky! But that’s a good thing! Has stickers also instead of the more modern plastic colours. It does look and feel very much like the original so if that’s what you want, it’s great! Love it!

I had high hopes for this Rubik's Cube—it looked fantastic in the pictures, and I was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a major letdown. The coloured stickers are misaligned and look cheap, while the corners feel loose and poorly constructed. The overall quality is tacky and far from what I expected. If you're looking for a durable, well-made cube, this isn't it. It feels cheap and lighter than the orginal cube I bought in the 80's. I'm sending it back for a refund.

My great-nephew was pleased he got an anniversary edition. He thought it was really cool and didn't mind that it is harder to turn than some newer ones. The outer plastic box marked 50 years is rather flimsy. The anniversary edition's should have been more solid.

The build quality of this 50th anniversary edition is awful. I had an original Rubik’s cube when they first came out and it was far smoother to turn than this one. I’m not convinced it’s not a fake. It’s so stiff. Quite disappointing. But I guess to get what you pay for. I can’t really recommend this particular one. Sorry So to update I brought the (new) original Rubik cube from another source. It’s like night and day to this one. I think the one I have is almost definitely a fake. The other one moves almost effortlessly. This one is quite frankly a complete pain, snagging and I think if you were a child, you might actually not be able to move it in a way that would allow you to solve it and be engaged with it. I can’t recommend this.
