I read internet reviews and 'Best Of' lists, but unfortunately did not read any Amazon reviews. Looking back now, the average score is poor, and there are loads of 1 star reviews. Initially it seemed to work fine, but within a week I had problems with it crashing my Mac or not mounting/unmounting properly. I didn't really use it much over this time so I put up with it, but after having it for around 10 months I started to use it more and it became almost impossible to do basic things. Amazon were very helpful and replaced the drive with another one of the same model, but again I started to have there same problems within a week so I returned it and bought a different external HDD.
