This also works for my son who decided to save some money and purchase GNC brand 50billion flora only to find it didn't work for him and returned to FloraSmartUPDATE Jan2012: I have used this probiotic for what seems like decades so when I opened a bottle that looked like the caplets had changed color from a consistent pale yellow throughout to a speckled with brown flecks and white fur, I called RenewLife customer support and they assured me that different batches look different and that batch was fine. Customer Support told me that Florasmart is shelf stable and that it is impossible that any vendor could mishandle it and cause health problems for the consumer or lessen the potency/effectiveness of the Florasmart probiotic. So I ingested a caplet and I got a reaction like I have never had before. I had my first asthma attack ever, ran a high fever and broke out in hives all over my torso. Fortunately, I was able to administer emergency room procedures myself without going to the hospital. Later I realized that I not only had a life-threatening acute reaction but also a chronic reaction that had to be addressed medically as well. This reaction seems to be specific to the batch with a june 2013 expiration date as the september 2013 expiration date has returned to consistent non-speckled non-furry pale yellow and normal helpful probiotic. Renew Life customer support believes it is not a problem because no one else has called them to complain that they had a reaction to the speckled furry caplet and I tried to explain to them that while one cannot ignore the life-threatening reaction, it is very difficult to determine what is the cause or source and one usually doesn't suspect their probiotic but bad seafood or mushrooms or canned goods or such. If you had a reaction, you can pursue them legally for damages. If a loved one died after ingesting their caplet, you can recover legally for wrongful death. They should have better quality control.
