Ball is not round. *by K***1 on Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2018* First, let me say that I really love this snorkel mask. The fit to my face is great and very comfortable. No problems with leaks when snorkeling on top of the water. The first time that I went underwater with the snorkel, I got a big surprise with a stream of water coming into the mask from the top. Went back to the surface and cleared the water in the mask by just breathing into the mask. That part works great. Tried going underwater again. This time I still got a stream coming from the top, but it was not as heavy as the first time. Being the engineer that I am, I decided to see if I could determine why there was a different amount of water each time I submerged. I removed the top of the snorkel to gain access to the ball that is supposed to block the water. The ball floats and goes up against a round opening in a material that seems like silicone at the top of the snorkel. This is supposed to keep water from entering the snorkel while you are submerged. The problem is: the ball is NOT round. The ball is made of a hard molded plastic in two pieces. The two pieces are than joined together to form a sphere. However there is a ridge where the two sides are joined together, thereby making the ball not round. If the ball goes against the silicone hole without any part of the ridge touching the hole, the mask will seal and not leak. But if the ball is turned so that any part of the ridge is touching the hole, it will not seal and the gap allows water to flow into the mask. I tried submerging many times and every time the amount of water flow into the mask was different. You never know how much is going to come into the mask, because there is no way to control the attitude of the ball when it goes against the hole.I mitigated the issue somewhat by using a utility knife to scrap off some of the plastic from the ridge. However, there is no way to get the ball perfectly round.Suggestion to the manufacturer: Start providing a round ball with the mask.If it weren't for the non round ball, this review would have been five stars. ### ⭐ The design in theory sounded good. I would be able to breathe through my mouth and nose, but when I actually put the mask on I had difficulty taking anything but really short breaths without having the ball in the snorkel plug up (thus preventing me from breathing comfortably). I couldn't take my normal breaths such that I felt like I was suffocating in this mask. These are the best especially if you cant swim! These were sized properly since I got the same size as my first generation so water came through sometimes. But expected from normal snorkeling masks.
