Most movement/exercise books just assume that the exercise work is self-fulfilling, but I love that Katy asks why do you want to move better? She gives examples from her experience of the happiness she feels from swimming in natural waters, or being strong enough to carry her baby on a walk, things that some of us may take for granted but others will find very difficult. This is an actionable book that I highly recommend. I do recommend the paperback if at all possible, because you're going to want to write in this book! This is not one of those books that gives you a one-size-fit-all solution — Everyone who goes through this book will come out better for it, by doing the things that are right for THEM.

Interactive and collaborative book that takes a deep dive into YOUR movement.
Brilliant author who has the unique ability to guide you to move better no matter what your starting point is. This book helped me (and continues to) understand where I'm NOT moving and spending time there has made a difference!

Different way to look at movement
I only discovered Katy Bowman this year. I bought Move Your DNA and this workbook. She has such a great way to look at how much you move as well as the variety of movement. I move a lot, but now I know many different ways I can easily move. Filling out the plan, you'll see exactly where to focus.

This is not a book to tuck in your tunny or lose weight, but to create a plan of everyday movement to allow you to be strong enough to live the life you want to in retirement.

What You Need for Your Specifix Body
This is a workbook, not a book. You have to take the time to think the questions through, but you end up with a movement plan for your specific body, not a generic "good for everybody" suggestion.

Helpful workbook to be more intentional with movement. After implementing some of the ideas, I feel better (less pain) and can move better overall.

We had a book club with this book and it was very well received. Knowing your why for priorizing more movement in you day is key to success and this book paves the way for you to gain this insight as well as other practical guidance.
