I'm not the type of person to install random device drivers for most basic devices I own, but I was pretty surprised when a nice-looking installation window popped up after I first plugged in the mic. I'm glad I did - the equalizer software that comes with this mic is pretty impressive! The volume of this mic is pretty decent if you turn up the Windows mic volume to 100%, and then turn up the gain to max in the JBL software, and also create a custom EQ profile that is mostly 100%. Note that without using the software (or another equalizer software like the free Equalizer APO), this mic would probably be too quiet if it was placed more than a few inches away from your mouth. However, when maxing the volume out as I described here, I'm able to keep the mic about 1.5ft away from my mouth, and still have my voice pick up clearly and loudly enough. I also REALLY like the USB cable that comes with this mic - it's stylish and durable, and matches the style of the mic. I love the mute button, and really appreciate that the mute button is ALSO a volume knob which you can use to adjust the volume of the microphone's output audio jack, which is convenient for plugging headphones into.

I'm not sure if 3 or 4 stars is better. The quality of the microphone is good, it is steady on the base, the clear indication of mute/unmute is good, and being able to control both microphone and system volume with the dial is very handy. Problem is this mic is listed as being directional. But I can stand 8 feet away at a 90 degree angle from the microphone and still be heard without a problem. This is supposed to be a directional microphone, and a normal speaking voice that far away at a 90 degree angle shouldn't be part of the receptive area.

The sound quality is great! I use this with my PC to communicate during video and work calls. I've never run into any issues. This is a high quality mic and it's come in handy many times!

Does exactly what I needed, provides better audio than the built-in mic on my webcam.

I bought this to attach to an Microsoft computer so I could get speech to text, but the software in my computer is so hard to set for a microphone that I’ve had to delay several times and keep looking for the reasons I cannot get it to work except once in a blue moon. And my iPad and my phone I can use speech to text, I used to be a type 60 words a minute, no problem at all but now I have rheumatoid arthritis in my fingers, simply don’t work! I am desperately trying to simplify my life and I need to set up the software properly to be able to use this, but it has been challenging! I think the microphone is probably fine, but for my intended use, it is difficult

Nice little microphone for the price. Sure beats having one of those huge microphones in your face.

This little microphone works great and I've had no complaints from folks on the conference calls I typically use it for. It's a great value, too, but my chief complaint is I wish there was a way to disable the LED at the microphone tip when it's not in use, because it can be very distracting. I've taken to putting an old film cannister over the end just to block the light.

My son loves using this for making his YouTube videos . The sound quality is perfect

This item did not allow me to voice record audio tracks any better than the microphone on my desktop computer and so I was a bit disappointed. If I sit upright with the mic on my desk (and even stacked on some books) it does not pick up my voice clearly enough despite settings adjustments. When I lent in far enough for it to pick up my voice, it was an unnatural uncomfortable position and the mic then picked up more subtle breathing sounds as well as my voice. It wasn't for me. I am in the process of returning. This was quick and easy to set up online and paid for by vendor (I assume) but, I do have to go find a UPS drop-off point rather than this be collected.

Save your money, it's a phone mic with a knob, it may say its a super-cardioid pickup mic but it sure doesn't behave like one unless you use the required programs audio processing, which makes you sound like an old drive through speaker. AND It doesn't work AT ALL without installing said weird program that requires a privacy agreement, this program is what does all the "voice isolation" and audio processing which just makes it sound like a permanent low quality video call with cheap noise reduction. There is so much competition at this price point that this mic is effectively manufactured E-Waste.
