Clint Eastwood ("the Man with No Name") is good, Lee Van Cleef (named Angel Eyes Sentenza here) is bad, and Eli Wallach (Tuco Benedito Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez) is ugly in the final chapter of Sergio Leone's trilogy of spaghetti Westerns (the first two were A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More ). In this sweeping film, the characters form treacherous alliances in a ruthless quest for Confederate gold. Leone is sometimes underrated as a director, but the excellent resolution on this DVD should enhance appreciation of his considerable photographic talent and gorgeous widescreen compositions. Ennio Morricone's jokey score is justifiably famous. The DVD includes about a quarter-hour of footage not seen in the original release. -- desertcart.com DVD Special Features Soundtrack: English Subtitles: English/Dutch Version: English Hard Of Hearing: English Ratio: 2.35:1 Running Time: 2hrs 34 mins 14 additional minutes of exclusive never seen before footage Interactive menus and screen search Original Theatrical Trailer Completely restored with enhanced sound and picture quality Review: Ennio Morricone's music is the perfect complement to this famous Spaghetti Western. - I'm gonna give this 5 stars just for the music alone. Gotta be one of Ennio Morricone's best scores. As the film reaches its finale with the 3-way Mexican standoff, we hear the beautiful voice of Italian singer Edda Dell'Orso launch into 'The Ecstasy of Gold', one of the most iconic themes in movie history. 'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly' is a long film, coming in at around 161 mins, but Morricone's skill at evoking moods and feelings will get you involved in the story (set against the backdrop of the American Civil War) and may even bring a tear or two to your eyes. Review: A Jewel of a release - I just received the item today, and I only have had time to watch the 181 minute "all in" 4K cut of the movie and I couldn't be happier about it. This is the definitive release of this great movie. desertcart finally shipped my copy more than a week and a half after the release date, having pre-ordered it in June, and apparently, this has fast become a highly sought out hard to find product. I look forward to watching all the extras and the Sad Hill Unearthed documentary. the 3 Arrow 4K releases of the Dollars trilogy is easy one of the best sets in my vast collection. Sound and image are top notch and extras are plentiful. Well worth the money.

WOW - Pin sharp. And Yellow.
OK you may have read about the transfer. I watched this on my Samsung 1080P projector and the image was 14ft diagonal. As such the screen blisters with detail you have never seen on previous releases. There has been much debate about the new grade. Although an assistant on the film was involved I think that the colour is off as the sky looks green not blue in certain shots and the white on the titles is yellowed. However, I was able to pay with the colour values on the projector and return the image to something I would approximate as "natural". I admit this is "My" interpretation and it worked for me - you may like the new colour palette. Once this is done, the film looks AMAZING. Its a great movie anyway and seeing it so crystal and sharp - far better definition on detail than the previous release - really made the screen come alive The extras and menu are just lazy. They are ported over from the original version and I would have hoped that Clint and Eli could have been coaxed to record a commentary even if it were separately and edited as a single track As they are both alive and very lucid its a massive opportunity wasted and probably the last time they will be able to get them. I saw Eli at a screening of the film in 2006 and he stated "I have never been asked to do a commentary - I don't know why?" 8 year son and he still hasn't apparently? If you don't own the movie in HD buy it NOW. If you do its worth a double dip if you can live with the new colouring or change your display manually. All of this is from my point of view if you disagree fair enough I will accept your opinion. Please accept mine as mine.

Absolute CLASSIC
I've been meaning to watch this film for a lonnnng tiiiiiiime. Long overdue. My only regret is that I didn't see it with my Dad, who absolutely LOVED Westerns. Absolutely brilliant film. The cinematography and music are outstanding. Eli Wallach is incredible, as is the rest of the cast. Amazing film.

The Man with No Name Never Looked Better
If you are a fan of Sergio Leone’s "Dollars Trilogy," this 4K UHD release is the definitive way to experience the final chapter. While many previous home media releases struggled with color grading—often leaning too heavy into a yellow tint—this scan is a revelation. The clarity in the extreme close-ups, a Leone trademark, allows you to see every bead of sweat and grain of desert sand with breathtaking precision. The HDR provides a natural depth to the landscapes that makes the cinematography feel more expansive than ever before. The Film Set against the backdrop of the American Civil War, the story follows three gunslingers—the "Good" (Blondie), the "Bad" (Angel Eyes), and the "Ugly" (Tuco)—as they race to find a hidden cache of Confederate gold. It is a sweeping epic of greed and survival, punctuated by Ennio Morricone’s iconic score and a tension-filled three-way standoff that remains one of the greatest sequences in cinematic history. While this film is an undisputed titan of the genre, it sits comfortably as my second favorite Western, trailing only the legendary Rio Bravo. Disc Contents & Versions One of the best things about this release is that it caters to the purists. It includes: The Original Theatrical Cut: Clocking in at 161 minutes, this is the version many grew up with and is arguably the better-paced experience. The Extended Cut: For those who want every bit of footage possible, the 179-minute version is also present, fully restored. Supplemental Material: The extras included here are a cinephile’s dream. You aren't just getting the movie; you’re getting a masterclass in film history. The set features: Audio Commentaries: Deeply researched tracks from film historians like Sir Christopher Frayling and Richard Schickel. Documentaries: Multiple "Making Of" featurettes that dive into the production hurdles and the legacy of the film. Deleted Scenes: Specifically those that were restored for the extended version. Image Galleries: Rare behind-the-scenes photos and promotional posters. Whether you are upgrading from a standard Blu-ray or buying it for the first time, this 4K set is an essential addition to any collection. It honors the legacy of Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach, and Lee Van Cleef in the best quality possible.
