You need to be careful you know what is connected to the circuit being tested as the high voltage could destroy any electronics. I personally would not use unless certain I am just testing a wire and nothing else **Q: Can this equipment be calibrated and certified to ukas standard** A: I do not believe so. I use these testers as an assessment guide device for workshop and in the field. They fill this purpose very well. **Q: Whats the smallest ohm reading. Will it test copper wire resistance accurately** A: it is not a low ohmmeter it is for insulation resistance i.e. megohms **Q: Can I use this megger for testing lightning conductor earths .?** A: No, I am using for transformer testing only. This one as soon as you take measurement, it makes crackling noise. It is bit concerning as it sounds like something is not very well made/insulated inside. It works okay, just concerning when you are sending 500V from the crackling box...
