Crystal clear craft ice
I got perfectly formed totally clear ice first try! I wasn't expecting it to work so well, it's as good as any high priced machine can do. I did use boiled filtered water, it then took 24hrs in the freezer. The molds came out easily and surprise! amazing ice for cocktails

Tough to remove these molds along with some science.
There has to be a better way to remove these from the container. Sure if we let it sit for a couple hours on the counter things get easier, but sometimes you want those cubes/balls right now. Getting clear ice is a snap. I noticed in these reviews people don’t understand the science behind clear ice. It has very little to do with hard water or soft water or RO water or filtered water. Clear ice freezes directionally. It must freeze in one direction, whether it is from the bottom up or the top down. A regular ice cube tray freezes in all directions so the result is less clear. This gadget allows freezing from the top down so you cannot toss the foam container as one reviewer suggested.

Fun clear ice cubes that melt slowly and look like a bar setup at home
freeze from top to bottom, which is how you get the clear ice effect. After a bit of practice with water level and freezer placement, I started getting consistently clear cubes with very few bubbles. The mold is easy enough to fill and separate. The silicone has a good balance of flexibility and structure, so you can pop the cubes out without deforming the whole tray. The cubes are larger than standard ice tray cubes, and they melt more slowly, which is perfect for whiskey or mixed drinks where you do not want the flavor watered down too fast. The only minor note is that the mold takes up more room in the freezer than a basic tray, but the result is worth it.

Wow, crystal clear ice!
It really works! I don't need to boil my water but I do use water from my filtered pitcher. I've made 5 batches now (4 cubes per batch, 2 cubic and 2 round). All are perfect. I remember seeing the instructions for building a similar device on the web but this is way more convenient and less bulky. I now have 20 cubes in the freezer and 4 more going in next. The holidays are covered. If you know anyone that loves clear ice this would make a great gift.

Check your glasses to make sure they fit.
Followed all the directions and even after 30 hours in the freezer the molds were only half frozen. The clarity was excellent, but it may take 2 days plus for a full freeze. Also, to any potential buyers it's important to note that even though the ice cube measurements advertised are accurate the square cube measures 3" from tip to tip and won't fit into smaller glasses.

Definitely crystal clear but you have to work for it
I really like the clear ice cubes, but it’s definitely an effort to go and make them. Also, it definitely uses a lot of room in your freezer. If you don’t mind putting forth the effort and they look awesome

Cracked mold and no support!!! Such a shame!
Plastic mold was stuck to styrofoam after first couple uses. Noticed a crack in the plastic that was leaking water in between the parts. The worse part is that I've contacted support twice (website support form & Berlinzo support email), in the past month, and have not received any replies despite them claiming that they "try" to respond within 24 hours. I only used this product a few times and now it is practically useless. The few sets of Cubes and balls I was able to freeze were decent but the product is of cheap quality and their service is sadly nonexistent. Boo on you, Berlinzo!

Amazing ice... but
I love the results.... but if you let the bottom part freeze, they are amazingly hard to melt. No easy come out for the bottom part if completely frozen. I like having 2 squares and 2 round ice. They are a little bigger than my other brand I have making 4 square ice. the 2 round are simply AMAZING and PERFECT. I wish I can do 4 rounds at a time... chears....

Amazing ice ball/cubes are possible, with effort
I really love the ice cubes and balls we’ve been able to make with this Berlinzo ice mold, though it’s definitely requiring of quite a bit of effort and time to get good results. The ice mold itself is quite expensive, and I was a little surprised that for the price point the outer portion of the whole thing was unprotected styrofoam. (I am now aware that the brand also has a “Premium” line, where there appears to be another outer plastic box piece that is branded and nicer looking - ultimately, this is just an added piece overtop of the styrofoam, but it may mean a longer life for the ice mold overall.) The mold itself is pretty bulky, but it fits nicely on the shelf in our fridge freezer. I do understand that the size and additional space below the cube/ball portions are what allow you to create super clear ice, so this cannot be bypassed. The silicone molds are sturdy and while not super easy to remove once frozen, they are much easier to remove than I’d have expected, and if you let the mold sit on the counter for a couple minutes that can make it easier as well. It definitely took a couple tries to get really consistently great ice, but now that I know where to fill the “ball side” to (the marks that are supposed to be there really aren’t obvious), we have been getting consistent ice balls. The cube side can be used with or without the added inserts that imprint words on the ice cubes, and those are open at the top, so much easier to fill when the cube mold is already in place. This can’t be done effectively for the ice balls though. We purchase 5 gallon bottled water for drinking/cooking with, as our tap water at home is not drinkable. We use that water - filtered spring water - without additional filtering, and have gotten the clearest ice we’ve ever experienced. I tend to always start with room temperature water, though it’s possible a particular water temp could help or hinder your end result. Would I repurchase? Now that we’ve been using this mold for a few weeks, I think I likely would because we’ve come to really love the ice cubes/balls it produces. It definitely requires more effort than your typical ice cube trays, but the result is pretty awesome and makes for a really enjoyable experience.
